I have sworn off this service many times, but end up coming back, when I am sick, and or stranded. The food will not be hot, or cold, and I got sick from eating from one restaurant that I have since learned barely passes their health dept. scores. But, it's a service. Over-priced, and yes, they notify us that the prices 'differ' from orders at the restaurants, but I think their management has improved. At one point, they accused me of being in the wrong when I called, as the delivery driver was pulling away to say I had gotten someone else's food. I think the owner came out to deliver to me the next time, just to see if I looked suspicious in any way, and I have noticed that I get calls from the restaurants now, if something I have ordered isn't available. I do tip, but only on the amount of food ordered, I don't tip based on their service charges! It's a luxury service, certainly not for everyone- but I am grateful they exist, because getting any decent food delivered is hard, in Athens. Locos, Eatstreet, and Golden Sun, as well as Papa Johns all do a better, quicker, cheaper job of delivering food, and I tend to use them more often than Bulldawg. Edit, November 2017: I will never use this service again. My final order was 4-6 weeks ago. I ordered about 15$ worth of food, and the service charges doubled the cost of my order, to 30$! I called, and the young man who took my call acted helpless to correct charges that hadn't appeared on my order when I placed it. The food was cold to the touch, took well over an hour to arrive and my order was incomplete. The driver was rude, unapologetic and argumentative. I had not tipped in advance, but had planned to tip in cash, and might have, but only had a 10$ bill. I asked for change, and he yelled at me, about being too cheap, and told me that I obviously couldn't afford to use the service, if I didn't expect to give a 'decent ' tip. So, I closed my storm door, agreed with him sweetly, and left him stomping off my porch, red-faced and completely tipless. I was honestly afraid that he was going to grab my moolah, and run with it. I am very proud that I haven't given in to any impulse to order from them since, and am really over it, this time. That driver was dangerously high on something, and I have learned my lesson at last. Never again! Edit- It's almost mid-March, and I have stuck to my decision not to order from them- and am very proud of myself. I have been tempted- but not enough to spend double and tip someone even more, for...
Read moreI order via bull dawg food all the time. Today was the last time. They used to be pretty good but today my food was delivered spilled all over the bag and on everything inside the bag and this isn’t even the first time it happened. Sometimes I have even had issues with something I ordered not being delivered. I’m done. I tip well and I can handle things not getting here on time but not this.
Edit— today, I ordered from bulldawg food again....I am ashamed of myself. Sigh....I mean, am I really going to go pick up my food myself like a common peasant?! You have won the battle today bulldawg food....you have won today.
Edit again 09/19 - I’m changing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. I stopped tipping so high and I started to receive way better service. Could be new management! Only thing I didn’t like was having management come to my door after I left a review of the place mentioning they saw my review and that if I do have problems to just let them know in the future. In all honesty, I put the review out there for public eyes and so Im okay with receiving judgment and/or criticism and you get back what you put out, but it still put me off that he came to my home (just a disclaimer: I had ordered from bulldawg food and he delivered my food, he didn’t just come by unsolicited). Thinking back he didn’t do anything inherently wrong and I’m sure the intention was meant to be reassuring but it still doesn’t sit right with me. Anyways, I live in California now, but someone reminded me of them and I remembered to come back and change my overall review cause don’t want it to affect their rating since it did get...
Read moreI have been writing "Additional Info For Drivers" to places like Dominoes and Papa Johns for years. In fact, I have sent both of my best friends a pizza on their birthdays and asked both companies to have their drivers simply tell the recipients "Happy Birthday" and they couldn't go through with that simple gesture.
But you guys... for lack of a better word DELIVERED the best customer service I have ever non-directly been apart of. Not only did Starland Pizzeria & Pub meticulously shape the pepperonis on my boos pizza into a heart, but ya'll did what I asked in my "additional info for drivers" notes.
I wrote, (knowing well enough it could be a male or female delivering this pizza and that no one involved knew anyone in this exchange)
"No matter how awkward it may be... tell my boyfriend he's handsome and you hope he has the best day!"
...AND YA'LL DID IT!!!!!
I live in Albuquerque, NM (getting ready to move back to Georgia) and you will forever have me as a customer if I am ever in need of food delivered in Athens.
10/10 will recommend to every college student and human being I know in the area and non.
This is 100% the reason people should shop/buy local.
P.s. If ya'll could give me the delivery guys name, I'd like...
