Junebug’s Vintage — Local services in Athens

Very unprofessional. Extremely and unnecessarily rude. I returned a gift I bought for my wife February 13th on February 5th with receipt. The clerk appeared agitated and stated they normally don't accept returns. I said nothing as she took a very long time to wordlessly inspect the item ( which was cleaner than when I purchased it) and then still without saying anything and obviously perturbed began to slowly count out my refund. She handed me my money and stated for the future that they do not accept returns . I stated with honesty that makes it hard to purchase a gift for someone else there and that their policy was shooting themselves in the foot. She agreed. She then continued on to lecture me that all these "places" like this have the same policy. I countered that I brought the item back in better shape than when purchased and with receipt after 2 days and before I could say its only good business to take care of this time she cut me off and smirked that I hadn't cleaned it. At this time it was obvious she was spoiling for a confrontation. Keeping my voice low as I prefer to let my vocabulary speak for me not my volume I told her not to tell me what I did or didn't do. I am a grown man...lectures and condescension don't go far with me. She then relied on her ostensible business acumen and told me not to come back. After a heartfelt laugh I questioned her if she thought that my coming back was really going to be an issue. Long and short if you want to deal with people who have some kind of heavy chips on their shoulders and are not afraid to treat you like you stole something this is the place for you. In retrospect I wonder if the owner of the place would be happy with literally treating patrons like they were a criminal. I figure the over/under on how long it takes to get a snarky, condescending response to this honest review to be 4 days. PS My wife had seen this item the day before I purchased it and I thought she liked it but it turned out she said the price was not reasonable. At least I got this wonderful interaction out of...

Lovely antique store and lots of bargains and goodies. Repurposed, recycled and gently used treasures. The shop keeper, Denise is very knowledgeable and friendly. I love this place. Every time I come to Junebug, I find something new. A lot of stores claim to be "vintage" but this store really has some special treasures if you're willing to take your time and browse the shelves closely. And the prices are extremely reasonable! I highly recommend...
