Citi Center Shopping Center — Local services in Atlanta

Dollar Tree, I've been a customer at this store for years. I took a friend with me to get a few things. We shopped and proceeded to the check out register. Everything was routine. I used my debit card to pay. The chime sounded for me to remove my card. The female cashier said I would have to redo my debit card again. She said I removed my card to soon. I told her I waited for the chime & the message to remove my card. I mentioned to her I came in often and was very familiar with the debit card process. I told her that the card terminal was old by the wear and how dirty it was & needed to be replaced. Her reply was " I don't have nothin to do with that " anyway, she argued with me, kept saying I don't have nothin to do with that. It was obvious she didn't have any customer service skills. I was disrespected and insulted. I decided I was not going to purchase the items I had, and was leaving the store. I went outside to wait for my friend that was behind me with his purchase. When he joined me, we proceeded to Kroger, which was our plan. When I was checking out at the Kroger register, my debit card worked perfectly! I have no intentions to return to the Citi Center Dollar Tree. It's sad. This store in the past was cleaner, staff was very friendly. The staff knew me, and I knew them, it used to be a pleasure. I hope the franchise owner reads this. They need to be aware...

The bad: Has anyone mentioned that this is on Cleveland Ave...a sketchy Street with nearby strip club, massage place, lots of dollar stores, & some deep poverty local neighborhoods with drugs/crime? Some of these characters wander into parking lot, hang out, ask for money, break into cars -- police cars often seen at front of Kroger. Kroger now puts security tags in meat packages... So that tells you there's a meat stealing problem 😲 oh and don't Park downhill from a buggy Coral ‼

The good: none of the bad stops me from going to Kroger (tho partially due to limited options). They have a security patrol that seems to do a pretty good job. There is local development that is improving surrounding areas... To North and South & on the street corridors. The city is invested in cleaning this area up with tax incentives etc. Diversity is a good thing and it's nice to be around. You now see more...

Average Grocery-Store-Plus-Impulse-Buys one stop shopping center.

Pluses: Dollar Tree, Rainbow, MetroPCS Corporate Store, new Dollar General across the road where Family Dollar used to be. Regents branch w/ATM just inside Kroger entrance and a gas station on the property.

Minuses: Mediocre and cramped Beauty supply, Boost Mobile, Jewelry repair and "hair salon" inside Kroger building are sparsely staffed and stocked with lousy customer service. Parking lot has reputation for property and violent crimes. The loss of BIG LOTS was a BIG LOSS, as was losing...
