Just do it. I literally showed up one day and just never left. Its been almost 7 months now. I started at this studio with zero experience and the amount of growth I have seen in my personal life and in my body is indescribable. I think the reason why I love Yonder so much is that it just genuinely has an overall great community. We are all pushing ourselves and challenging our bodies to reach places they've never been before. I love how they constantly encourage you and continuously remind you that it is a practice and nobody's perfect, but we are all trying and that's what's most important.
But this review mainly goes to my tribe (Melissa J., Theo, Sarina, Maya, and Rachel). Each and every one of them has shined a light so special in my life, that even if I stop practicing it will live with me forever.
Melissa Joyce is absolutely amazing. I really dont know how she does it. She is so dedicated and such a hard worker and she really pushes you to challenge yourself to new heights. If you want to really build on your practice, take her class. Its hard and hot as hell, but you will not regret it.
Theo is just THAT guy. His energy is unmatched. His classes are also equally challenging as Melissa's but the flows are just insane and he just has a vibe you can't ignore. His classes are very unique in a special way. If you like great music to get you through, take it.
I really could go on, but if you are thinking about it, just do it. Its become a huge part of my life in such a positive way. This is the BEST studio in Atlanta, period!
Honorable mentions: Jess & Grace (they're awesome too! so if you're a super super morning person,...
Read moreI started taking yoga classes here in October 2020, and over the last four years, I’ve hopped around several different yoga studios in metro Atlanta (no need to mention which ones). Many times, I would end up coming to Yonder immediately after taking a class elsewhere because I didn’t quite get what I was seeking.
The physical and mental challenges that Yonder’s instructors offer bring positive benefits to my work and personal life every time I practice. I’m calmer, happier, stronger, and less anxious. I can respond to things without letting my emotions taking over my actions, and my reactions to every day stressors are more peaceful. Physically, I can hold and play my instrument longer because I don’t get as easily fatigued as I did in pre-yoga life. With a stronger body, I can continue to pick up and hold my growing sons as they get bigger and heavier.
One of the best things about this studio is you get to practice with a lot of Yonder instructors! Seeing the teachers supporting each other really emphasizes a strong sense of community. Many other places, you only see the teachers when it’s their turn to teach. You rarely get to practice with them.
My only negative feedback is occasionally, the music is too loud (85+ decibels), and it becomes difficult to hear the instructor and their cues. Plus, exposure to 85+ decibels for an extended period of time can cause permanent hearing damage. Yes, I have a decibel meter on my watch. 🤓
Try their $40/30 days unlimited to find your favorite teachers, locations, and community. Maybe we can practice...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE Yonder Yoga. As a first time yogi, I’ve attended 24 classes in the last 22 days. YY’s instructors and staff are so friendly and supportive, and as a complete n00b, I don’t feel timid or embarrassed to ask questions about anything at all.
I’ve tried 13 different instructors since beginning my “30 days for $30” trial, and I’ve learned something new not only from the teachers but also from my peers.
Try everyone. Also, another recommendation I have is to try BOTH Buckhead and Westside studios. They are different, but they are both fantastic. I like to change it up for variety in clientele and setting since many of the instructors teach at both locations.
EDIT 2022.11.10 Yonder now offers four convenient locations (with a 5th opening soon).
I spent these last two years taking classes, working the front desk, and I even enrolled in the 200hr YTT program and did the extra mentorship program with Theo. I no longer work for Yonder, so this is an unbiased edit to my review.
Over this period of time, I’ve discovered that there are teachers I really enjoy and teachers I don’t enjoy as much. Everyone is different, and everyone looks for different things. Yonder offers a wide variety, so try it out! There is something for everyone.
Yonder also has prenatal. Try Sarah! I learned a lot of safe modifications in those classes as I need help strengthening my pelvic floor (after having two vaginal births). It’s great for everyone, not just the moms and moms-to-be.
Hope this was...
