My experience with Mattress City started out good, but didn't end so well. Rebecca was very friendly and helpful in the store and I enjoyed chatting with her, but after the delivery of my mattress and frame I was left feeling disappointed.
First, there was some miscommunication about what would be hauled away and what I had to dispose of myself. In the store I had asked if my old bed would be hauled away and the answer was yes, but apparently I misunderstood and only the mattress and boxsprings are removed, but Rebecca knew I was switching from a queen to a full with no boxspring and that I would need everything hauled away and she said, "no problem". This put me in a bit of a panic because I wasn't prepared to remove my old bed frame myself since I am disabled and can't do it on my own. The delivery guys agreed to take my old frame apart and move it to my garage, which was great, but still left me feeling a bit frustrated. Had I known the frame wouldn't be removed, I would have made other arrangements prior to them arriving.
The delivery guys installed the new bed and frame, but after they left I noticed loose screws all over my floor, which were from the old bed frame. That was a bit annoying, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The real issue came days later when I realized that the bed frame wasn't securely put together and it almost collapsed on me. I had to remove the mattress and flip the frame on its side to secure all of the bolts. Every bolt was barely screwed in and had to be tightened. This was very upsetting since I was paying them to put it together and set it up for me since I can't do it on my own. If I hadn't realized there was an issue my bed would have collapsed. I trusted them to put it together correctly and securely.
The final issue was with the new mattress. I didn't get any info on it other than that it was a Mattress City mattress made by a well known company (don't know who) specifically for MC and that it is a Firm mattress. It's comfortable and all, but after only a week it already had a body shaped indention in it and the side edge was loosing firmness and shape. I am concerned about how well it will actually hold up and what it is made from and who actually made it. It's been about 6 weeks and it is clearly sagging and not holding up well. I haven't asked for a replacement because I am afraid the same thing might happen. I just wish they were more forthcoming with all the information and that the delivery guys did a better job. It has been a disappointing experience, but I do love the feel of the mattress, even if it is already starting to...
Read moreMy first experience was with mattress firm. I bought a twin XL mattress for my son 12 years old. It crumbled all over and had a deep fold in the middle and sunken in we've only had it 450 .The frame I got from mattress firm broke . They replaced it twice for free but the frame kept breaking. When we tried to go through with the warranty. We had so much trouble doing the warranty online. They wanted images downloaded to their site explanations on how it was broken it was just a pain in the butt. It took me 2 hours to figure out how to do it I had to send images to my email through my phone download it to the site redo passwords make an account redo my email. They had me go through a bunch of hoops. It was overwhelming and very stressful. It was perfectly clear they were not going to replace anything. So we gave up and search for a better company. I typed in mattress stores near me I found mattress City in Auburn Washington. With the highest praise form multiple customers. They have a five-star review everybody loved the store and the mattresses. The customer service was amazing the lady that runs the store is awesome she is 150% honest she breaks it down for you so you can understand. She uses her own personal experience throughout the years to help you understanding. She is an honest lovely woman and she works with you. It is a small store but it is so much better than any other mattress store it is number one in my opinion. If you want a mattress or a frame this is the place to go they don't sell junk and they don't try to get you into a deal that you don't want. Their warranty is a lot better it has a 5-10 year warranty depending on what you buy . They work with you if you're on a budget or you need time to save the money. I have bought beds so many times over the years and this is the number one store it is amazing. If you had trouble in the past with other companies with beds she understands all the other the companies understands how they work knows what they sell and understands the deals and the cheapness that they make. She will break down other company's products and explain it to you the quality other companies versus equality of their product. She is patient very very honest and she doesn't try to push you into a deal you don't want. There is only a five-star rating if there was more I would give her 10 Stars if you're sick of buying crappy mattresses go here it is worth your while in...
Read moreUPDATE: I wanted to add to our review since we went back a second time for another mattress for my MIL, who was moving in with us. We had such a great experience ourselves that we wanted my 82-year-old (picky!) MIL to equally have the same opportunity in purchasing a new mattress/bed for herself. Again, Mattress City came through for us! We worked with Rebecca this time. She was very patient and helpful as my MIL came in (with a mask) and carefully tried all the mattress options in the store. She found a perfect Twin along with a beautiful white bedframe. There was a wait (about 3 weeks) on the mattress, so we waited patiently. We did receive a call, however, from Rebecca that our mattress was even further backordered but informed us that they could offer a better brand for the same price, so we took her up on the offer (after my MIL wanting to test it again just to make sure). Rebecca was friendly, understanding, and personable with us. It was another great experience! I love that we have found such a warm and trusting company in the Auburn community. We will be back!!!!
We were in search of a "more firm" mattress and are new to the area so relied on Google reviews to find the place to look at. This place had 32 reviews with a 5-star rating, which really impressed us, so we gave it a try. We don't regret our decision!
We walked in there, told them what we were looking for, and they gave us 3 options in their firmest to not-so-firm options. We tried them, chatted, our son played cars on the mattresses, and we walked out of their with our new mattress that day! We have a truck and the salesman said he had the one we wanted in stock. The price for our queen was MUCH less than what we were expecting to pay.
Obviously, they are a smaller company so cash is appreciated when possible but they do take credit/debit cards. The salesman was honest, no pressure, and very "real." This is so hard to find nowadays when making larger purchases. We are happy to help this local business and hope these reviews continue to bring in more customers. We will be referring all our friends/family here, and we will be back next time we are in need of a mattress. Keep up the good work,...
