Pros: Very clean & well-organized. Easy to read signage. Produce & aisle depts are fully stocked with good quality. If Raley's carries an item, there's good selection within types [e.g., over a dozen kinds of pickled cucumbers]. Staff are more than polite -- they are warm, helpful, & appear sincere; their work is efficient. UPDATE: There's a lot of ice cream/frozen novelties: MANY brands & some interesting flavors, though the "exclusive" ones are pretty expensive. I got 4 pack of matcha popsicles with brown sugar boba -- $7 on sale [usually $9]. I thought it was ok 7/10; 1 nephew didn't like the frozen boba; 2nd kid gave it 9/10, & also immediately asked if there were other flavors. Cons: A little pricey (but I think the environment & staff are worth it). No staff on the floor, only at checkout. Not much depth in a category [e.g., only pickled cukes, only other pickles was 1 giardiniera UPDATE: Added 1 "dilly bean" pickle.] VERY limited "ethnic" items, in aisles and especially in fresh depts like produce & bakery. Frozen "ethnic" is mainstream: Tai Pei & Ling Ling appetizers, for example. Prone to run out of "specials" early. E.g., Saturday AM, LOTS of empty spaces where advertised discount items used to be. Hope they'll restock before the sale ends, but that's pretty inconvenient for me to return. UPDATE: noticed A LOT of missing price signs in produce section. Continuing issues with running out of sale items, in produce, frozen section, & on shelves. What I consider normal, regular stuff is not stocked: lemon extract, chocolate cookie crust. Sporadically stocked: Graham cracker crusts [never the tart size],...
Read moreI’m blown away by the excellent customer service here! This review is for the bakery.
I dropped the ball and forgot to order a cake for my son’s 2nd birthday. I first called another nearby grocery store to ask if it was possible to place a cake order for the next evening (more than 24 hours advance notice), and that interaction was horrible. She was rude as all heck and actually yelled at me for asking just that one question. I called Raley’s bakery shortly after and asked the same question. The employee, Kyle, was SO polite and helpful! He was able to find a specific design I had in mind, assured me that is was doable and would be ready for the following evening. The experience I had with Kyle versus the other woman at the other store was comparable to the difference between night and day. The next morning, Janae the cake decorator called me and verified the details of the cake and she was also very sweet and helpful. Not even once did either Kyle or Janae make me feel like an inconvenience. I hope their store manager sees this and gives them special kudos, because they deserve it AND THEN SOME! Thanks so much for the great experience. My 2yo was thrilled with his cake and it...
Read moreI've shopped here for years and the store is clean and the employees are friendly, but two things finally prompted me to write this review:
They have stopped putting prices on the items in the deli case, I'm not sure exactly when the change occurred but I've noticed it at least the past month or so - maybe they think if consumers don't know the price they will buy blindly.. Seems like they are purposely trying to hide their prices
For the love of God, please get some shopping baskets, every time I ask an employee why there are none I get a different excuse, but it has been forever since i have seen a basket and for the longest time there was just one. I've never been to another grocery store that can't provide this convenience for their customers, or are you trying to phytologically manipulate people into spending more by forcing them, to use a cart. That would seem to go hand in hand with the with the policy of not pricing items...
