They roll great burritos! While working on the recent Mosquito Fire, I had the pleasure of visiting Burritos Jalisco a couple of times, and although I live far from them, I will definitely go there if I'm within 40-50 miles. One evening I almost made the mistake of visiting the competing joint a half block east. Glad I realized this and made it over to the Raleys shopping center and B.Jalisco. Ok meat eaters, I'm sure their meat offerings are delicious, but I happen to be vegan, and they have at least two options for us. The first time I had the "Aztec Burrito". It had rice, beans, zucchini, potato, etc. It comes with no dairy by default. It really satisfied my burrito craving. On my next visit a couple days later, I felt like something more basic and ordered the "Veggie Burrito" it is also no dairy, but if you order it as "Super", it will have cheese and crema. I asked for a little salsa "extra picante" to be added, rather than mild sauce. I don't know what secret magic seasoning is in this Burrito, but their simple veggie Burrito had just rice, beans, lettuce, and salsa, but it was big and BURSTING WITH AUTHENTIC FLAVOR, and was absolutely delicious! The tortilla was fresh and flavorful too. I had a quick beer while waiting, and my two veggie burritos to go were ready before I was halfway through the beer. I had one Burrito for dinner, and had to use tremendous will-power to save the second burrito for breakfast. The guy at the counter (perhaps owner?) was really pleasant. Highly recommend...
Read moreI found this place shortly after moving up here in 2021. It is now 2025. They are still super consistent. My wife likes to get the super burrito with grilled chicken and avocado or guacamole or whatever it is... I usually get a super burrito with al pastor or carne asada. Tonight I was in the mood for something different. I talked to my buddy at the register and he said he thought I should try their Thai chicken burrito for the first time. This is not something I would normally pick but it was recommended and it was amazing! So much so, that I called him to let him know how good it was! I decided to also come on here and update my review! I should also mention that there are usually the same two people working the register. It's either a young man or a young lady and they are both the sweetest, most welcoming, hosts that a restaurant could ask for. The gentleman working in the kitchen are super kind and friendly, as well. This place DEFINITELY delivers exactly what you would want from a good Mexican spot. And apparently, they can make a hell of a Thai chicken burrito, too!! 😂
Thank you guys, for the last several years of great food. I wish we could eat...
Read moreGot it! Burritos Jalisco in Auburn is an absolute gem, and I can’t recommend it enough. Despite the small, cozy setting, the flavors here are massive. The family-run vibe, with the owner and his sons bringing so much energy, makes you feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food—each bite is a celebration.
The shrimp burrito? It's a total standout. Plump, perfectly cooked shrimp wrapped in a soft tortilla, bursting with fresh veggies and just the right amount of spice. It’s a burst of flavor that’ll have you hooked. And for my partner, the chicken tacos are a must-have. Tender, juicy chicken with that fresh salsa that balances the flavors perfectly, making each bite a satisfying experience.
The carne asada fries are something you have to try too. They’re loaded with savory beef, cheese, guac, and tangy salsa that’ll make your taste buds do a happy dance. Everything here is made from scratch with fresh, quality ingredients, and it shows in every dish. If you're in Auburn or passing through, make sure to stop by—this place will leave your stomach full and your taste buds...
