Food Lion — Local services in Augusta

Since I would probably get trespassed from coming to your store for addressing these disrespectful employees when they are disrespectful to customers; I’ll just call them out: Today (10/19/23) A heavy set black woman at self-checkout walking around with her slick comments. Don’t pick and choose who you want to be nice to, at WORK!! Be nice to EVERYONE! P.s.- I got time today and everyday. I’ll keep calling you out. Keep your comments to yourself; you’re showing how unprofessional you are.

*Edit: THIS CITY IS FILLED WITH MILITARY AND REGULAR RETIREES, that come and spend money in this store. I am so confused!!! A black woman, Food Lion employee, with a long white coat on, slowly, walks by me and looked me directly in my eyes ( I said hello) and she said NOTHING to me (twice; by produce and as I stood in the checkout line) then proceeded to say hello to the elderly white woman, behind me (this lady didn’t even acknowledge you). After I complete my transaction in the regular line, because I refuse to be treated like I’m stealing again, in self-checkout, I walk past the Dominican/ Puerto Rican looking woman (after she told the previous customer to have a good day) she looks at me and says nothing. I have ample time (because I’m retired) to come in your store, shop and report how you’re treating certain people. Did your superiors give you permission to treat customers this way? You’re blatantly discriminating against certain people. I’m a black woman, with no hat, scarf or bonnet on my head and dressed appropriately. What’s the problem Food Lion? Every customer needs to be treated the same; leave your personal feelings at home, in your car or at the door.

I guess it’s time for the negative employees to take over again. The black and white females surrounding the self-checkout making indirect comments as if you’re going to steal. For the idiot employee that made a snide remark and the other idiot employee (that laughed) that caught on to it, just like I did; how about do your job in a respectful manner and IF someone happens to steal, maybe you make your stupid comments then and ONLY then. You have time to stand there and judge people? To Food Lion, PLEASE open up the employee check-out lines so that these foolish, not-so-busy high school girls will have something to do; oh wait, it was 10 am in the morning, on a Thursday, the children...

I visited Food Lion tonight at the Daniel Village location in Augusta, GA, and the customer service was terrible except for one young man helping me. I asked the young man if there was a manager I could speak with to help me in the meat department because there wasn’t any Roger Wood sausages available that I could see at the time. He asked the manager as I witnessed the conversation ensue, and the manager said that they were completely out of stock until the next truck came without even looking up if there was a possibility that any were left in the store at all or walking to the back herself and double checking to make sure they were out completely. After she said that, she returned to her conversation as if she was never asked anything. So, I returned back to the meat department looking for substitutes and lo and behold there was one single pack of Roger Wood sausage tucked way in the back of cooler which I did purchase and then told the young man it was one pack there. I honestly feel that if you do not want to give your all at an establishment you chose to work at, you shouldn’t be there. The least that manager could have done was look herself by helping out the customer. I do shop here regularly and never have I been this disappointed in the service . Food Lion must do better! This happened between the hours of 6pm -7pm so whoever was the manager (which was a woman) at that time needs to take some courses of proper customer service, and maybe the situation could have ended a lot better. I go to this Food Lion religiously every night. I have no problem at all tonight I went. It was exactly 10:58pm before the doors closed. One of the Regular crew members came out and he sat there and told me that they was closed. They wasn’t closed. He closed the door in my face and was very very rude to me. There’s a gentleman that is the store manager by the name of Trinidad and he is very very polite and very nice. He always does good but every other manager on duty at this store is so stuck up and unpolite they act like they don’t have a care in the world. This used to be a really nice neighborhood store. but now all they seem to care about is just money if used to be about small town neighborhood friendly service but now it’s just...
