UPDATE: Owner did return my call as advised. He answered my questions thoroughly and I accepted his explanations. I also visited the store today as we thought we had an issue with the cam we purchased not recording properly - issue was resolved immediately. I am satisfied and thereby updated my rating from 1 to 4.
BUYER BEWARE: I purchased dual car cameras (front/rear). I asked very pointed questions before my purchase. The salesman provided 3 specific and crucial points which led to my purchase (1) access to mobile app to control the camera (2) SD card for storage (3) automatic recording if in an accident. I decided to purchase and over the weekend decided to help my son setup the mobile app. Issue 1: we were sold the Acumen XR10 (retails $199), mobile app and wifi connectivity are tied to the Acumen XR10 PLUS (retails $300). Guess how much I paid for my camera - $300. So, either I was sold & subsequently installed the incorrect camera or Lawson's Audio marks up their products significantly. Either way, it is not ok so BUYER's make sure you do your research before you purchase. I did some however I am not technical and unfortunately had to rely on who I assumed the experts were. Either way, I as a single parent looking to give my child a nice Christmas feel as if I was taken advantage of by this company. Which leads to... Issue 2: I called Lawson's today to speak with someone. This company has 2 locations owned by the same person. The Washington Rd location (where I made my purchase) was closed today. The Gordon Hwy store was open so I called and asked to speak with the owner. The lady who answered explained the 2 stores are owned by the same person BUT they do things differently at each store. I needed to call my store tomorrow. I explained the locations are irrelevant if the owner owns them both. We went back and forth for a bit, I then asked -"are you saying I cannot speak to the owner of Lawson's?" The lady took my name/number. I directly stated I wanted to speak with someone today. We will see if that actually happens. I will update once I speak with someone.

Read moreI went in one day and asked how much would it be to install somthing they gave me my answer everything was great then I come a different day with money ready and I was told first come first serve when I got there I was second in line they kept walking around showing things to the customer that's fine 2 more people came in I kept following close waiting for my turn when he finished he went to the guy behind me and started talking to them I guy they where friends then guys on the the next guy and starts making paper work for them and finally when he came to me he was rude had no respect told me the job could not be done he had to see my car and was super rud about everything just because he was the only one working in the store that day I told him I was here before and I have all your answers here and he refused to listen to me he said let's look at your car we go out there and he starts pulling on my seats and said we cant do it the seats dont come down I should him a string you pull for the seats the come down end of the story super rude didnt carr about anything I had to say couldnt work on my car because he came to me last and he gave me a higher number than the previous guy did....they be making there own prices and dont care what you have to say even after I told him the first price and the paper work showing it nope he did not care and started making things up to raise...
Read moreI've been here a few times before with little to no issues. Last car I brought they didn't install my radio correctly because they used an improper dash kit (they must have not tested it), and I couldn't get it fixed since it's outside the grace period. Now I'm wanting to get a radio set up alongside an amp and subs. You have to bring it in the morning. No exceptions. No appointments. If you work a full time job you essentially can't get serviced. I decided to call to see if there are enough slots open to possibly get fit in for a late afternoon. As I was told after being turned away a day prior. I spoke with a rude lady over the phone who basically said what was told already and that being serviced wouldn't be possible, as I was explaining my situation as to why I couldn't co.e early morning she hung up on me mid sentence. If you bring your own equipment i.e. cables and radios and you just want it installed professionally you get little to no priority and get longer wait periods or get shoved aside entirley. For the price you pay and apparant high reputation This is a big disappointment. Terrible service, Exorbitant prices on cables and parts that can be ordered online or found elsewhere for a fraction of the price, inflexible scheduling.
