This place is a ghetto hood spot for 30% above market overpriced products people who are too lazy to drive to cermak or Walgreens come here to get taxed. Therefore the quality of the entire establishment gives “cut corners where possible to save money” which does NOT seem like what we’d want from a place that sells hot and raw food. The concha’s are fresh and used to be a favorite however lately there have been flys in the pastry case Everytime I’ve gone as of recent. I eventually stopped coming to this place for edible things however sometimes would grab last minute rushed toiletries and my most recent experience was unpleasant as usual.. i biked over around 10 blocks and stopped to grab something quick the wife asked me to pickup and they refused my method of payment ($20 usd) because it had a tear? Keep in mind it’s US Currency in its 100% form it was just torn.. made me go back home empty handed and that’s the last straw I’ve held my tongue enough about this joke of an establishment management needs to worry less about squeezing every penny out of the customers and more on reinvesting back into the building it’s cramped with no space for people to walk without brushing shoulders with random people and the workers just stare at you like you’re at fault for being on there way while you shop. If I could give this place a worse review than 1 star I would save yourself the food poisoning, 30% overprice tag, ghetto area, poor service, and joke of management and just go to any other place for your...

I sent my daughter in the afternoon to pick up Carnitas and chile rellenos and tamales and rice and beans. They had carnitas or very very flavorful. The chili rellenos were out of this world they were so delicious I was totally impressed. They will be forever saving me from traveling to Chicago for chile rellenos. They didn't have any tamales which made me super sad but I knew that we really needed to be there first thing in the morning to get the best selection. We will return to see if we can get them. It has been over 30 years since I've gone to this store and I was not disappointed. The race was decent and really miss not having any beans. The young man serving the food joked with my daughter about not speaking English as she joked about her not speaking Spanish.
