Hope Chest Resale Store- Aurora — Local services in Aurora Township

Came here over two weeks ago and was excited to check it out. I drove about 30mins from my home. It appeared clean and everything was displayed nicely. I had wanted to purchase a dresser and rug and then was told that unfortunately those items are currently not for sale because they were being used as a display and I was asked if I would be able to come back in a week. The lady who was helping was kind but seemed very busy and preoccupied, said managers were out sick and she would have to ask. I only have one day a week with a short time frame that I am able to make the drive and was serious about the purchase of the dresser and two rugs. She took my number down and said she would give me a call in a week so I could drive back which is not convenient what so ever but I was willing to do it. I unfortunately never received a call and won’t be taking time to go back. Not worth it. I own an antique booth of my own and we would never let a customer leave empty handed if they were interested in an item. Definitely a bizarre way to run a business. My first time in this store and honestly first impression of it was, well, dumb. Every item I saw that I liked was tagged as "not for sale" yet put out for grabs. I had asked an employee maybe thinking this was a mistake, but only to be told that the 5 items I had were all "not for sale" It's like, then why the hell is it out then? I shook it off in dismay as I walked over to the home decor /antique section of the store to find these cute glass vases that I wanted and just had to have. Great selection, but I had to give it 2 stars because of the employees I dealt with. I arrived 17 minutes before close. As I entered, a guy behind the register told me they close in 5 minutes. Huh? I asked if they close at 6. He said yes. So I explained I had 15 min. to shop. Three minutes later, another employee turned off the lights. I saw it was 5:48 at this time, so I continued to shop for a few more minutes...using the flashlight on my phone! Turning the lights off was a HUGE safety hazard!
