I ordered food and the young girl at the register was kind and efficient. But while my order was being prepared there was another worker sitting in their designated employee table working on their computer. She was coughing without covering her mouth. And coughing a lotā¦over a dozen times within a 3 minute time frame. She was not near the food, but it still bothered me. The table she was at was in the dining room. She then got up and went to the kitchen and started to put on gloves. I called over to her and said she is not to touch or prepare my food with her lack of hygiene practices. She said oh Iām just going to the back to wash dishes. I told her again she should cover her mouth. She said āsorry.ā The lady went to the back. The young girl then returned and continued to prep my food. I asked the girl if that woman was always that disgusting? She apologized and said she has asthma. I understand the girl was trying to stick up for her boss, but you still have germs whether itās asthma or something contagious. I told her that she is still spreading germs no matter what. The girl apologized again for the situation. I then decided I was not comfortable paying and eating food knowing that the other woman may have had anything to do with making my food. So I asked for a refund. The young girl swiftly refunded me and apologized again and told me the time frame to which I would receive my refund. I asked for the manager's name to follow-up in case I didnāt get a refund. She then said and pointed towards the woman and said that she was actually the owner. I was shocked. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat from. Not anymore. I just canāt assume that anyone who works there has any good hygiene whatsoever especially when the owner is so blatantly opposed to practicing the easiest form of hygiene. Do they was their hands after using the rest room, after blowing their nose, after taking out the trash? I now have to assume not. Just think about that when youāre trying to enjoy your meal. I mean after the last 2 years if you couldnāt have learned simple practices youāre obviously too obtuse to understand common sense or itās a self righteous thinking that your germs are better or not as āgermyā as others. The young girl at the counter was embarrassed. Maybe sheās been put in this situation before. I also understand that having food prepped by someone else comes along with not completely knowing what goes on "behind the scenes," but I would hate to see their practices when no one is around. I hope my review will at least have the owner re-think her hygiene practices. I am sorry that she has to live a life with asthma, but being in the food service industry, hygiene is of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been coming here for years. YEARS! The BEST casual, home cooked, Mediterranean food you can find locally in the Aurora, Centennial, eastern side of Denver, Colorado.
Today I walked in, and this small business owner, Najwa is her name, was setting up a warm meal for a less fortunate local. That selfless service, giving back, and being a servant leader is only one reason why this restaurant has a place in my heart. Even during the hard times we are all facing in the economy, it costs nothing to be kind to another, and lending a helping hand. Then Najwa, greeted me, and asked if perhaps my medical service dog would like to eat too, and if she could feed him some cooked meat.. I was astonished! She said I understood he was a service dog, and did not want to interact with him or offer him without any permission. She was so kind, and interacted with us, and the other local fellow. Our order was taken by Allexa, a very sweet and kind young woman, and before you know itā¦. MMMmmmm.
Now for the good part! I ordered the three skewer platter with humus, tabouli, basmati rice, with garlic mayo, and tzatziki as my sauces. It also came with a warm, decadent piece of white saj. You also have your choice of wheat. Their chicken skews dipped in their tzatziki?ā¦.Oh, and their tabouli salad?? Against my better judgement, if asked to pinch my best friend for some, Iād seriously consider it š We also ordered a beef pita with spicy humus, tomato cucumber salad, tabouli, and tzatziki. It came in a warmed wheat pita. The flavor is just perfect. This is a small business, so you have all the perks of getting to eat food that tastes like your Greek friends momās cooking. I just canāt say enough good things about Saj. I hope you come and stop out and try this place out! Come support Najwa, and tell her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was singlehandedly the worst restaurant experience Iāve ever had. Iām never the person to call and complain or even leave reviews. But my boyfriend and I saw this restaurant and thought it sounded good so we decided to try it.
The lady taking our order was very short, but Iām thinking maybe itās just an off day for her. We waited 50 MINUTES for two shawarma plates. The entire time the manager was sitting down talking to some guy and the two line workers were flirting in the back rather than preparing the food.
We finally get our food and leave, only to get home and realize we didnāt have pita bread like we ordered but whatever it wasnāt a huge deal. We tried the spicy potatoes and they were still starchy and very undercooked. I tried the hummus and it had no seasoning it literally was only ground chickpeas. And then the beef shawarma was black. At first I was like well maybe itās just char and flavor, blackened meat isnāt always burnt. Nope. This was fully burnt and inedible. I couldnāt even chew through it. The rice tasted three days old and was cold.
And I canāt stress enough how much I never complain about things like this. I understand itās hard for businesses with the pandemic and being understaffed. But the staff and manager blatantly just did not care. Iām not even a picky eater, Iāll eat just about anything but this was literally inedible.
Iām super disappointed ā¹ļø I love...
