First Watch — Restaurant in Aurora

Ok! So I knew nothing of this place, just was hungry and came from shopping in the area. Recently when I've tried new places, I have been getting a trend of disappointments. I always check the reviews, so based off of the reviews, I took a chance. Keep in mind you want to visit this place early as it closes at 2:30. I came in around 1:30, it was a 30-40 min wait time, which was understandable because it is a popular place and they were an hour before closing. The time went by fast because a woman came in IRATE about some sort of Uber eats delivery. She was yelling at the manager and it caused a HUGE scene. The manager handled it well, I can say that. This woman went on for the next 30-40 mins yelling, trying to explain what happened to other people that did not work at the restaurant at all. A man started handing out $20 comp cards for the inconvenience, as soon as he started to notice it was making people uncomfortable. I was one of them, which I thought was excellent customer service. We came there for a nice brunch, not to hear some crazy woman lashing out. They had no control over that, I still appreciated that they did something at least. After being called for our table, I opted to eat outdoors because the lady was still there yelling and I could not take her voice. It's already pretty loud in there as it is. The restaurant is clean, staff SUPER friendly. I must say they have the customer service on point. I ordered the Belgian waffle, seasoned potatoes, turkey sausage biscuits and gravy. It was DELICIOUS! My food came and I poured syrup all over it, and before taking my first bite I did notice a bee floating in the enclosed syrup bottle. I immediately went to go find the waitress and was met with the manager, who apologized and got out a new order. The prices were reasonable and again the food is DELICIOUS, which it seems like it's impossible to find nowadays. I WILL be returning! My husband and I absolutely love this place! Food is phenomenal. Unfortunately I couldn’t give it a 5 star due poor customer service of one wait staff. Our waitress was great! She was fairly quick and got our food out fast. I did notice she was busy training new staff so it took her a little longer to get to our table However when I asked for syrup from a different waiter he was not nearly as hospitable as her. He looked like he didn’t want to be there and when I asked him; he acted like he didn’t want to help us. I mentioned to my husband, if it was just me or did he act like he didn’t want to help us? My husband agreed that his demeanor definitely came off like he didn’t want to be bothered. The worst part was I let it go and waited patiently for him to bring our syrup and he never did. However he did bring the people right next to us there drinks and acted as if I wasn’t his problem bc I wasn’t his table. My husband tried to get his attention but he completely ignored him. Needless to say I went inside as we were sitting on the patio and asked another employee for syrup. I was really taken back as I didn’t expect that at an establishment like this. I wouldn’t typically write such a lengthy post however the interaction really rubbed me the wrong way and As a DM myself I would definitely want to know if my employees ever treated my clients that way so I could take appropriate action to make sure it never happens again. I completely understand that this establishment is a high volume restaurant however proper etiquette such as telling the customer they will let there waitress know would of been the most appropriate way to handle...

SO WORTH THE WAIT DURING BUSY TIMES (if you have time)!!!! Our 1st experience was 2-14-25 and we came in at about 11:30am on a whim just looking for some grub

Upon arrival, Mari greeted us with a big smile and looking cool, calm and collected during their very obvious busy time. She let us know the wait time and added us to the waitlist. She was super kind and had a refreshing smile when new guests arrived

We were finally seated, Carmen was our waitress. She was super sweet, prompt and gave great recommendations. Carmen was also very attentive checking in us of frequently to ensure our experience was top tier.

We had gotten a mimosa & Bloody Mary for drinks, a starter of the donut holes, my husband ordered the healthy turkey omelette with the million dollar potatoes, i had ordered the market skillet hash but substituted the goat cheese for feta. Everything was SO delicious, flavorful, and filling. Everything came out hot, fresh and within a timely manner. Their menu is pretty diverse in the sense that i haven’t seen some of the offered menu items at any other establishment. There are several dishes we’re wanting to come back to try in the future. My husband got an iced mint mocha iced coffee to go and was also impressed with the flavor.

We will definitely be back. Thank you Mari & Carmen for such a great 1st time...
