I rarely write reviews but after my experience today, I am compelled to. I drove all the way from Colorado Springs today and went into this card shop at the recommendation of a friend. I was impressed with how many individual cards and retail boxes there were (particularly hot products). I found a few single cards totaling $19 that I was interested in. One store worker was extremely friendly. He helped me at the display case and looked at the cards I picked out and ENCOURAGED me to see if I could get a deal on the cards since I was buying multiple. He advised me that Mike was a great guy and that he knew him for years and said he was very reasonable. Fast forward to when I went to check out, I simply asked the store owner Mike if “prices were negotiable”. I didn’t offer a price. I would’ve been pleased with a simple “no this is the best I can do”. Instead, he proceeded to pull up comps on his phone and stated that he would sell me the cards that I was interested in for nearly double the price that was listed on the sticker. I then said that I didn’t realize that comps were so high and that I would gladly buy his cards at sticker price. He then gave me a lecture about the “quandary” that I just put myself in by asking to negotiate with him. He only chose to sell me the cards at sticker price after I stated that I didn’t intend to buy anything at that point. I feel like I was respectful and while I admit should’ve pulled comps prior to approaching the counter, I did not expect to be talked to the way that the owner talked to me. I was hoping to find a LCS that I could return to while in the Denver area. But after today’s experience I’m not sure I feel...
Read moreThe owner mike is such a nice and laid back guy. Have zero complaints. I hate to give this place a low rating but I can’t stand one of the workers there which is why I’m writing this review. Whoever the old guy in the hat is. About later 50’s I believe. He's incredibly rude and unprofessional. Spent about a half hour there and wasn't even greeted by him or acknowledged at all. Just dirty looks and side gossip to his co worker while he watched me look around the store. It felt like he looked down upon me like a child who shouldn’t be in there. I’m a grown man btw. Maybe he’s prejudice towards race & tattoos but he's done this on multiple visits now and mike needs to know. The fact that he couldn’t even acknowledge me when I walked up ready to pay for cards made me wanna leave them there and never return to the store. I support mike though so I purchased anyways. Mike I know you’ll read this and I am not bashing you by any means. But that older guy there needs serious training around customer service. A basic welcome in or can I help you goes a long way. No one should feel like they aren’t welcomed there because of age, race, appearance, knowledge of cards. Lastly, I overheard him talking about keeping cards to himself as if certain inventory wouldn’t go out because he's stashing them away. Idk what policy you have around that but customers shouldn’t be hearing that regardless. I drive 40 min to come to this location but this is my last time. I will stick to cheek and dons, they at least talk to me when i come in. Love you Mike! Hope this...
Read moreAVOID. MESSY store. Very Disorganized. Do NOT SELL your cards to Michael (just sell online) it was a Nightmare. I liked going here until he tried to buy my cards and Low-Ball me on ALL card prices. *NOTE: A mutually beneficial deal where BOTH parties benefit and make a small profit, and establish basic goodwill - that should be the goal when buying/selling. Michael did NOT do this. He kept offering LOW price comps despite card prices RISING (he would pull up comps 2-4 months old and suggest these as accurate present-day prices and not acknowledge that card prices have risen... Has the market Boomed? Have prices risen?). After I put up with Michael's continued insults, he began yelling at me as I packed up and started to leave. He realized I was not giving up my valuable cards (over $2000+ in value) - he then started YELLING - Yes - an apparent adult, started yelling - ask anyone that was in the store that afternoon, lots of people were there (even his own Son witnessed this) - very crazy. NOT honest - NOT respectful and a TERRIBLE experience. I've since sold my cards online at market value and made 60-110% higher profits on the various cards as a result. Overall, it was a disheartening experience. *I'm sure Michael will not like my review (can't wait for it!) but AVOID this shop if selling, plenty of OTHER, cleaner, Denver...
