TDLR: The reason for this 1 star review was because of the way I was disrespected, taken advantage of, and scammed via bait and switch by the owner.
Honestly, I found what I thought was the perfect dining room set. I bought the furniture immediately after I saw it and was told that the set would be delivered the next week. Then, a few days later, I received a phone call saying that they were actually sold out and that they wouldn't get more inventory until after 2 months. Although I was very upset about the situation, the company suggested that I could borrow their whole dining room set (table and chairs) floor sample and swap it all out with the brand new set that I was promised and paid for, when they received their next shipment. This was what I thought was phenomenal customer service.
However, after 2 months, due to covid, they had to push out another month. Again, I patiently waited. Three months later and they finally call saying the dining room set is available to deliver. However, when they get to my house, the only thing that was brought was the table. No new chairs/bench.
I call Ryan, the OWNER, and ask him where the chairs and benches are. He lent me the full dining table set with chairs with the promise of swapping everything out, but when I called him he said he would only swap the table, not the chairs. This was a complete shock.
First, he says that he never agreed to swap out the table and chairs, but only the table (which is a complete lie! Why would I pay full price for a floor sample, and he obviously lent me the whole set to be replaced as a whole set). After I reminded him of this, he says, and I quote, ""everything we let you borrow was brand new. The scuffed table and all the chairs were brand new. They were barely on the floor for long.” His justification was that the floor samples, even though it had obvious scuff and usage, were “basically” brand new. There is a huge distinction between floor samples and brand new, ordered products. He also mentioned it was my fault for not taking pictures of the scuffs and sending it to him right away. My question was, how was anyone to know to take pictures and report it, if everything was going to be swapped out? During this conversation, he had a condescending and disrespectful tone the entire time. I honestly felt belittled after the call.
What hurt me the most was that I waited patiently for 3 months, took care of the borrowed set, was extremely excited for the new furniture, and said nothing but great things about this company. Do not get me wrong, the employees at Austin Furniture Depot are amazing, however, the owner on the other hand did not stand by the principles of what was promised.

Read moreSo, where to begin, the furniture is decently priced BUT and this is a BIG BUT, the delivery has been to say the least unprofessional and a nightmare. The company said they’d prefer us to have our furniture shipped a day later than we wanted, so we agreed, trying to accommodate. We then were told, they forgot parts to assemble the bed and wouldn’t be able to deliver it at all until the next night, which was Sunday. They then did not contact us at all, until we reached out to them multiple times through phone calls and text. After several hours, we received a text saying they’d be coming soon. We did not get our furniture until almost 10 PM Sunday night. We both work and were not able to sleep until after the furniture was put in. Then on top of everything else, we had to wait for a night stand and they agreed to deliver it to us for free of charge. We were also never told when it would come in or when it would be delivered. When we called requesting the night stand they said they didn’t remember saying that they’d deliver it for free and to “save an argument”, they would just deliver it for free. So when they called to tell us the night stand was in, they said let us know when YOU are on your way to get it. At this point, we were already completely done with this place and came to get the night stand. We called ahead and said we’d be there at 6:30 PM and they said it would be ready then. When we get to the facility, they said they forgot to get it out of the warehouse and we would need to wait about 30 minutes for them to grab it. So, yeah, not a great experience to say the least. Read moreMy fiancé and I bought a bed set here and we were over the moon excited about how fair the price was... however the delivery was an absolute train wreck. First they delivered our furniture a day late because they apparently left the supplies they needed to build the furniture at the warehouse. So we wait until night time the NEXT DAY to finally get our bed set. Then, we were never called about our extra nightstand we ordered and had to call ourselves to find out that we won’t be getting it till over a week later than we were supposed to. It would have been nice to have any kind of update about the status of the nightstand. We understand they can’t control when it comes in, but they could control notification of the customer—I’ve worked retail before and if someone is waiting for something they already paid for, you better call them and let them know. Today we finally came to pick it up and said we’d be there to get it at 6:30 and they never went and got it from the warehouse... leaving us waiting another 30 minutes even though we called ahead and they said it would be ready. I am not one to leave bad reviews and be upset at people for making mistakes, but this was just so unprofessional and very disappointing and we received no apologies. Ps. As we were waiting for our nightstand, an employee was vaping IN the shop... where people buy furniture that will go in...
