Buckle — Local services in Austin

My wife and I were visiting Austin for a wedding. We had no clue what we were going to wear. We decided to hit the mall and not leave until we had our outfits. Buckle was the second store we visited. We had 3 employees greet us and check on us throughout the trip. However, by the end of it we had the entire crew laughing and helping us out. Now, Mayra helped me personally. I have recently lost about 70 pounds and had NO idea what would fit, or what would look good with my new shape. She was so patient, and so kind. She helped me with up and downs of sizes, and this sweet soul dug through every bralette they have trying to find me one. We didn’t, but it wasn’t for her lack of trying! By the end of our trip in Buckle, I left with 3 outfits! I didn’t even wear my clothes from home for the remainder of my trip. I was so grateful. My experiences at our local buckle have not been as good, and always put a bad taste in my mouth. Mayra absolutely changed that for me! Best Buckle trip I have ever had! I had a super awesome experience at this store today with the staff working between 2:30-4ish. One girl in particular helped me so much, I can’t remember her name but she was wearing jeans and a cute blue crop button up. So I normally hate shopping for clothes, it’s overwhelming to me. Especially because I recently lost 40lb and have no idea what size I am or what looks good. She was excited to help me and said “challenge accepted” when I told her the things that I struggle with in particular lol. Everyone else working at that time helped me too, they were all super friendly and made my normal nightmare of shopping actually fun and pleasant for a change! I don’t think I’d have ended up buying anything and have probably walked out of there feeling anxious like I normally do in clothing stores. While i absolutely appreciate the level of attention you receive when you genuinely in need help tracking down items, walking into this location immediately turned me off with the aggressive level of pressure the employees exhibit.

I took two step in before a lady walks up and doesn’t greet or say just starts asking what size I need. I let her know I’ll ask if I need anything and two minutes later comes up and asks again even going as far as ignoring my comment when I tell her I’m still looking and tarts guessing my size.

I used to work here back in high school and although I understand these folks work on commission the regular visit I’d make to find jeans here are done for now. Two other employees approached me as I was looking over an unfolded pair of jeans and made a definite reason to leave store and go look for similar brands...
