Horrible customer service. A representative of the store answered the phone right away, greeted me with a somewhat friendly greeting. I asked if he could see if they have betrayal at house on the hill. (Great game btw) he answered with a laughing judgmental remark "umm yeah I would be surprised if we didn't." He looked it up on the computer, then replied he had several in stock. Then asked was there anything else he could do. I politely asked if they had another game by chance he said was there any other questions I had at this time. I replied no. He puts me on hold I wait a resonance amount of time then a new older guy answers the phone chewing/eating food or gum, not sure. Not sure why the first guy couldn't take the time to look up one more game but I ask this guy nicely if they carried the other game I was looking for again puts me on hold,less than 30 sec later he picks it up and says hello. Hello. Then hangs up very quickly. Since I was going to come to the store anyway I decided to drive there and ask someone that won't hang up on me. When I ask about the game I wanted with the other game in my hand. He covers his dinner breath (same guy on the phone that hung up on me) he said no we don't have the game, it was made in 1990... they don't make it anymore.... I replied my sister just bought it from Barnes and Noble and he replied with a laughing voice haha no we don't have the game bc they don't make it anymore. So I was still going to buy the house on the hill game but when I saw the price of $50 I figured that was too much. I searched the local Walmart and Target Walmart was selling it for 30 and target wanted 37. Amazon wanted 30. So I decided I didn't want to talk to dinner breath, I walked to the back counter where I waited about 5 min. I asked if they price match to local stores he popped of no directly and quikly. I replied really? The game is way over priced compared to Walmart and Target and I understand not matching online sales but he stared at me as if I said something wrong. I added don't get me wrong I support local small businesses but $20 mark up is a little high. He laughed then said I'm sorry.... we can't compete against big name stores like Walmart and Target.

I know these guys don't know how much business I have brought to the store they work for but I guarantee I will tell everyone about their customer service and the dragon lair ridiculous mark up.

June 2025: Big fun sculptures of comic book characters. There's a larger than life-sized Wonder woman right by the cash register, among others.

Pretty neatly decorated with all sorts of characters, some of which you might recognize, and unless you're very much into alt comics and pop culture media, you will not recognize everything.

They have a wide variety of neat games, recent comic books, and a lot of tables where people can go in and play their own whatever games and tournaments. Was actually eating at a place nearby and stopped in there. But I have been before because a friend of mine made a board game and did the opening release party for it there. His game is called 'blood runes', you should check it out.

I really think this would be a great place to have your kids go and socialize with other kids playing games, magic, whatever they all are. You can look at it like it's pretty nerdy, but for kids (and even adults) it's probably a good sober, fun thing to do, probably especially if you're somewhat introverted.

The merchandise in there is relatively expensive. They have a bunch of squishmallows (cutesy cartoony pillows) and the only one I looked at was over $50. I don't know about you but I'm not paying $50 for an oddly shaped pillow, Even if it does have a cute face. The comic books are reasonably a set price, But that's probably set by some type of MSRP. It disappointed me to see they did not have a historic collection of comic books, but I guess that's not...

In addition to a offering a massive (this place is huge!) selection of board games, comics, tabletop games, dice, miniatures, and assorted memorabilia, Dragon's Lair is a great place to hang out and play games.

There are over a dozen long tables at the back where you can try out a selection of board games (for free, mind). And pretty much every night of the week there's one or more events taking place at some of the back tables, be it Magic, Pathfinder, or less prominent games like Blood Bowl. There's another set of taller tables, for wargaming. And fairly frequently there are signings by various comic artists/writers/creators/etc.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I've been coming to Dragon's Lair since the early 2000s, when it was still down by Koenig, and not once have I had a single unpleasant interaction with an employee.

The bathrooms are kept clean and well-stocked, and are appropriately sized for the store. There's no issues with long waits or nasty stalls.

There's ample parking in the shopping center lot. The west side by Dragon's Lair and Hopdoddy tends to get busy in the evenings, so it's often wise to go park on the other side by Terra Toys and save yourself the hassle of...
