This is a follow up review. Original is posted beleow: I did receive a call from Bridgett Thom (who'd been on vacation) and she was nice and assuring, said the store's been having a tougher time of things since covid, but they were working on the customer service issue. She encouraged me to give them another try, and as I do love so much about them, including their selection, I dropped by to check out some tevas. Just so happens I arrived 30 minutes before closing, but I was still greeted, (not glared at) and the girl in the shoe department, (Elle?) didn't rush me, was super helpful and friendly. I really want this store to make it- they've been around a long time, and they are pure Austin. So I changed my one star review. Nobody's perfect, but it is encouraging to see someone own it , and try to do better.
Original Review: Incredibly poor customer service. Employees grouped around cash register chatting it up, not interested in helping with sizing, or product questions. Only activity they do seem interested in (besides ringing up sales) is locking dressing room door behind you, as you get a different size, so you have to interrupt their conversation to get the door unlocked again. Tried to offer feedback over a week ago through customer support, they said the oft referred to : "Bridgett Thom" would be in...
Read moreIf you’re like me and need to see the price of products before purchasing, save yourself time and don’t even consider this place to browse around. Every single product here was overpriced. A small shark book for toddlers $16.99. Why? Who knows. I would have gladly paid $12 but $16 was absurd. As I continued browsing I couldn’t help but be amazed on how every single item was grossly overpriced. I finally settled on some Yeti shot cups which was the only thing that was properly priced (Yes I google to see if the prices are fair) I also felt like the staff was watching my every step. I had a question for the older lady with long grey hair and she just brushed me away and said to continue to the register. Heard some things on these reviews about brown people being discriminated against. I felt out of place a bit that’s all I gotta say. The young lady who checked my items was very...
Read moreN. Lamar location 5 star! S. Lamar location 1 star! Been shopping at Whole Earth for over 30 yrs, since the original location by UT campus. Always had great costumer service until today. Started out at the S. Lamar location. Lots of staff standing around, but no one who can help out when you have questions about the travel backpacks. We asked for help at the front desk & they said backpacks are in the back, duh. As we stood by the backpacks my husband asked an employee if anyone was working back here to help us, she looked around and said,"doesn't look like it" and walked off. No one ever came back to help us, so we left.
*If you want great customer service go to the N. Lamar location. They are 5 stars!!! Thank you Jeff for all of your help! He answered all of our questions & gave great information about all of the travel backpacks. Very knowledgeable....
