Read moreI, a (un) homeles female here in Austin 'ATX' personally want to Thank with much needed words in person as well as writing as I do now in web writing to ALL the people who make such a wonderful and personable sacrifice shown much in their patience and with grace given to people such as myself whom I personally believe I am one if not the most needed (needy) one! In saying that as an intro to my song I am singing as I am writing to you ....I THANK YOU FROM THE MOTTOM OF MY FEET!!! LOLat ME....but in A good way from here on out I would hope be the same for you ALL as well when thinking of me, I wish to not 'leave' you even in the physical because you ALL (that I have shared even moments with even in the slightest as in the exchange of a smile and a peak in the soul reciprocated), I FEEL you have become to ME, 'MY Family'. And I'm going to work harder on NOT OVERLOOKING (that's a cliché) the 'FEW' (speak those things into existent that are not as though they ARE) ie: Faith in its verbal form of action! I give my words from this moment forward to strive first thing in EVERY MORNING God grants me to seek his throne of mercy and grace and say more prayers for others and the world as a WHOLE rather than requests for his help in DOING what I NEED to do to make them actions evidenced through my behavior and joy I share with others even in response to any negative energy the enemy throws or gently tries to offer me. I want to close with saying that I do not need nor pray for your reciprocation in the forgiving of my sins of words and actions warranted nor unwarranted by myself! What I do DESIRE is 1 thing ultimately (other than some genuine agape hugs) is the you consider forgiving me for the sake of the fact that YOU CAN! We ALL CAN DO what we BELIEVE WE CAN! Healing I believe STARS with the forgiveness of ourselves. In this I say I commit in my heart and mind what my Spirit is will to do. FORVIVE ME. Because HE DID if for ANYTHING. Sincerely Felicia A. Robbins Ross Martinez (maybe ArmSTRONG (lol). if any one would like to offer me their contact info please do (even if just a social network via internet) as I would greatly appreciate it!! I LOVE YOU ALL! .p.s. please forgive my political ideocracy's on social media in the year 2016 and 2017 as well as verbal . I pray I can prove my repentance is genuine through my seeking knowledge before speaking as so not to violate my freedom of speech while I yet still have it. I would rather be a snowflake then a frosted one and id rather have half a cup of ice than a whole KOLD one with NONE ;)! Bye (for now) NOT REALLY...
Sunrise Community Church operates a Homeless Navigation Center (I call it a resource center) weekdays from 9am to 1pm, closed weekends, church services on Sunday 10am. I haven't been to their church services yet, but I would like to see how they do it. Like, how they can be a homeless resource center all week, then church on Sunday. I'd really like to see how many homeless people that show up for food, water, clothing, shoes, hygiene supplies, bus passes, mail, and restrooms every day of the week, actually return there Sunday morning to thank and praise the Lord for all their blessings...
If you're homeless, and you don't know where to turn, start at Sunrise. Go there and get fed, get a housing assessment done, apply for SNAP (Lonestar Card) and even health care (MAP) There's always 60-80 people that go there every morning to eat. Some get there at 7am, and they start lining up around 8am,then stand in line for about an hour, til they start serving food. The line usually moves pretty quickly, they have volunteers that help out there every day, they keep things moving pretty quickly, cause there are a lot of people that need help. They play music over a PA system outside, they have misters over the yard in front to help folks stay cool while standing in line. This place is a resource center--they help navigate you to the best resources available, to help you get off the street, but they can't do the hard work for you--you've got to...
Read moreIt extremely understandable that the neighborhood feels their outreach ministry is a problem. I would urge people to feel compassion for our homeless community. We received some services there that were unexpected as victims of domestic violence displaced temporarily on two separate occasions. Services that cost a lot of money time effort and sacrifice on the part of the teams that come together there to make it happen. One thing you can observe up close is the humanitarian respect shown by staff/volunteers. You can also see the devastation that so many human beings are living with under and through to keep going another day of just survival. Yes there are a lot of factors and some beyond returning to your side of way of life because of addiction, abuse, circumstances, misfortune, injustice....There are also people like the gentleman who clearly in his own pain gently secured the sleeping owner's puppy to his hand and picked up trash, the woman who tried to help a young man get a belt for his upcoming interview so he could be more presentable, the woman who treated me with more courtesy than I treated her with in line, the man who allowed me to go in front of him even though time was running out to be served, the woman who held the door open for me....these too are our homeless brothers and sisters and we need to see with our eyes and hearts not just our fear and disdain. It's a...
