Organized a group activity as part of a corporate event. Guests were given the choice to choose their activity. The booking process as extremely simple and the communication with this company was outstanding. They are prompt and accommodating. Some of the feedback I received: We were lucky to have Darryl as our guide. His expertise and knowledge really helped make our day one of the best experiences I've ever had! I'm ready to come back and cast my line again but when it's warmer than 10 degrees!
The guide was great – attentive, did a great job changing our gear quickly and frequently to bolster our chances of catching a fish. Gave me some good tips too about casting that I didn’t know. You can also tell he knows the area like the back of his hand and exactly what kind of fish you can catch.
The only downside is that there are really only two places to go this time of year he said – one of them already had a guide so we were left with only one choice which was right in town. In the summer you can fish all over that river, so certainly not their fault. I guess I would expect a guided trip to take you to places that you normally can’t get to – but I realize it’s a whole different animal in the winter. Hope that makes sense.

Read moreMe and my brother-in-law flew up from Florida and had one day to open to fish. So we came in to their store paid half down and scheduled a trip for the following day. We came back in the morning of our trip, bought our licenses and waited for the guide. While waiting we heard the clerk calling the guide to find out why he wasn't there yet, but he had no clue he was supposed to work so no trip. The clerk said the owner "John" forgot to schedule a guide. Guess what John didn't forget to do? He remembered to charge me for the other half of the trip that same morning. The clerk said he didn't know how to refund our money so we'd have to wait for the owner who he couldn't reach on the phone.
I wish this was the end of the story. I called my CC company when we returned only to find out they only refunded me half the cost of the trip. I called the fly shop several times leaving messages over the next week and a half, but they never called me back or emailed me about the mix up or my refund. Finally they refunded the other half of the trip, but not the cost of our licenses, which we never got to use.
I hire guides often on trips so I'll say this to my fellow fishing travelers: Avoid this shop! Mistakes happen, but how I was treated after the problem shows the real character of this place and...
