Was in town thought we would try this place, nice looking and thought we would take advantage of the taco Tuesday special. Couple of things first being I have never heard of a taco special where you cannot order them how you want them ( beef and cheese only ) so less stuff than normal, but was told the kitchen wont do that . Since we were already there with our 4 children we stayed. Not excited about paying basically $18.00 for a 2 taco meal that would have been $4 under the special. The main concern was they serve water ( supposed to be) in old tequila liquor bottles which is neat looking but when we asked what it was ( we thought they may have dropped bottles of tequila off at our table by accident) we were told no it’s water . So two of my underage children were very thirsty from being out in the snow all day and take huge sips which they started choking and spitting it up. I can smell straight tequila, I get the waiter ( who was trying to help everyone but was basically by himself) and tell him this is tequila , he is like no it’s not it might be a smell from the empty bottles. I took my glass full, smelled and sipped it straight tequila, so he finally get its takes it back and says wow that was straight tequila. Says that’s how he first had a drink etc , the restaurant didn’t seem to concerned that they had just given a family with children straight tequila? Seems like a huge liability to just brush off and joke about. Obviously not the best experience and we went to other Mexican restaurants during the rest...

We came because my parents had dined here just a few nights earlier and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, ours fell far short.
From the start, we tried to be patient and understanding. Our server was covering more than 10 tables, so we even ordered the kids’ meals at the bar to help. Complimentary tortillas never arrived, and when our server didn’t make it back in time for us to place a second order before happy hour ended, we politely asked if we could still get the drinks at HH pricing.
Instead of a simple “of course” or even a “sorry for the delay,” the manager came over defensive and dismissive, insisting we had tried to order two drinks as soon as we sat down (which wasn’t the case). The interaction felt unnecessarily combative, and there was no attempt to smooth things over or make the experience right.
We had to order at the bar more than once, waited over 30 minutes for our second round of drinks, and it was nearly an hour after being seated that we received our tacos (which were fine, but not memorable).
We had two business owners at the table who understand things don’t always go perfectly. But there’s always an opportunity to recover a guest’s experience. That opportunity was missed here, and unfortunately, it’s the reason we won’t...
Read moreMy roommate and I visited Agave tonight for taco Tuesday. When we arrive we let the hostess know we’d be okay sitting at the bar if any seats opened up. A couple that walked in minutes after us later took the seats at the bar even though we had already mentioned something about wanting to sit there. It took around 30 minutes to finally be sat. We were served our food before our tortillas and salsa came out. It took extremely long to get our tortillas. I ordered the 3 special $2.50 tacos for the night and they were very subpar. I’m not saying they were horrible but I would’ve preferred Rocky Mountain Taco over it by far, but honestly I’d even rather have a Taco Bell taco than what I ate at Agave. The flavors were lacking. We were also let know that orders cannot be split on taco Tuesday (even for a table of 2) so we paid together in cash. Overall I’m constantly disappointed in the food and drink offerings at Agave and prefer every other Mexican place in the valley over it. I love the space as an event venue, but lunch or dinner...
