Enchanted Cottage — Local services in Bakersfield

I've been a customer of "The Cottage" for awhile but have really been committed to my spiritual journey a lot more in the past year. I frequent the store at least once a week for supplies. They have quality candles, crystals and things I need regularly. I've come to know Stan and Bruce, the owners very well. They always make me feel welcome. They are genuinely good people. I take my children there with me often and love that Stan and Bruce take the time to talk to them and take interest in them. I've become very close to one of the readers there, Tomi. Not only is she extremely gifted (all the readers there are) but she's become my friend and has helped through a lot of things this past year. Thanks to her gifts and Spirit I've been put on my path with guidance. I've attended many classes and full moon rituals there. They put on a yearly Psychic Fair and this year is was amazing! All these events and classes are open to the community. The Enchanted Cottage also offers a Candle Bar where Stan and the client together make a personalized candle to fit their needs. There are many books, oils, incense, sages, large selection of crystals, tarot cards, jewelry made by local talents and so many unique items. Every time I go..which is a lot, I always see something new. They have added new features to the shop this year like Aura readings and Reiki. I love that they are committed to growing and expanding. The owners have worked very hard to make the backyard and patio beautiful and inviting. I feel at home here. At ease. When I need to feel centered, I go there. The smell alone as I walk through the door is comfort to me. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Stan and Bruce. They work hard to build their business and are helpful, knowledgeable and kind. There is no place on Earth like the Enchanted Cottage, the selection of products is exceptional, no cost community focused events are offered regularly and consistently, and the sincere and knowledgeable owners and affiliates are world class and ALWAYS go above and beyond to ensure the satisfaction and we'll being of all who cross their threshhold...

I teach wire wrap art and jewelry classes at the Enchanted Cottage and therefore may be considered by some to be a bit biased in my opinion, however no matter what your affliation may be with any business, encouraging negativity to be posted against others in the same industry by those who are affliated with you when you have expressed interest in providing the services and events that a like minded/same industry has, and continues to facilitate being brought to this community, it just makes no sense to run down the public impression of that industry regardless of who or what you feel you are competing with. I am stunned that anyone would subscribe to the concept of slandering others could possibly be the best way to promote yourself and your ideas as an alternatives to what exists now...potential new customers who want nothing to do with the hostile pettiness are lost to all in that process; grow up,...

This is a wonderful shop. Stan and Bruce are so welcoming to everyone. There is no pressure to buy here! You can come in to visit, chit chat or just browse.

They either have what you are looking for and they can get it for you. I never want to leave the energy is so great! They have books, incense, jewelry, crystals, statutes, and so much more!

There is also a nice patio if you like to sit and chill for a bit. They many different activities and meetings. All the activities are listed on their Facebook page. There is something for everyone here.

I had an "Aura Reading" with Bruce today and it was a great experience! What's different here is that you actually get to see your aura on the monitor facing you while Bruce sees it on his monitor. Then, Bruce goes through the report with you (and you can see it on the screen too) and answers all your questions. When you are finished, the report is emailed to you so can always have an electronic copy. It answered a lot of my questions about what's going on right now.
