I would not advise purchasing from this business. Four years ago I purchased a refrigerator and was very pleased with the experience. Because of this I went back and ordered a deep freeze from them. When I placed the order I told the sales lady I wanted the largest freezer that would fit through a 29â door. I also requested several features I had seen in freezers online. The sales lady was completely unfamiliar with what I was requesting. She asked Scott about what I was looking for and he said they no longer made those freezers. I should have taken the hintâthey were not interested in my business. Only after I googled the freezer I was looking for was it located in a catalog and my order placed. I was spending over $950 on this, but was still charged extra for delivery.
After waiting for the freezer to come in, it was delivered to my home. Sadly, my laminate flooring was scratched and a wall had been bashed into and the plaster damaged. The scratch was over 24â long and ran across several planks of my flooring. I took photos and emailed them to the sales lady who had taken the original order. I was told a few days later they would be refunding my $20 delivery fee to cover the damages. While I do not feel this is a fair amount, I accepted it in the name of expediency. Sadly, over a week later there has been no refund check received. When I emailed the sales lady I was told that the check would be cut whenever the next time the books were balanced was. I was also told that the damage was because of the huge freezer and the tight spaces in my home and because I had not had the freezer put in a kitchen or basement. Apparently it is imperative you follow Millarâs staffsâ ideas about where the âproper placeâ for appliances is when you purchase there, even when paying for delivery. When I emailed that I had told her we had 29â doorways at the time we ordered it, the check had miraculously been issued a week ago, even though it has not yet been delivered and I live in Bay City proper.
This experience has shown me why people shop big box stores. Never at those organizations do they blame the customersâ location for the damage of the delivery people. Perhaps Millarâs should have a legitimate delivery team instead of hiring day laborers and paying them dirt wages. Even though I am very pleased with both appliances I have received from Millarâs, I will never spend a penny there and I will warn everyone to avoid them. I called to have my stove inspected and hopefully fixed, if it was possible. A Consumer's Energy associate identified a gas leak on the flex line going from the wall to my gas stove and found that it wasn't working properly and creating excess CO. We called Millar's to have someone come out. Apparently, they only service the 48708 side of town on Tuesdays and Fridays so I had to wait a WHOLE WEEK for them to come out. When they did, the service man was nice but he did NOT do good work and we will NEVER hire them again. He said he couldn't detect any gas leak from the flex line and no concerning levels of CO. Now, when the oven is turned on, there is a STRONG smell of gas and prior to his visit we had some pretty alarming symptoms we realized after the fact were likely due to CO. I asked the Millar's service man if this amount of gas smell was normal and he confidently said yes. He left saying everything was fine and we should continue using the stove as normal. I needed a second opinion and called Consumer's Energy for another check. Again, they found the gas leak on the flex line and he said the CO levels were VERY concerning and we should NOT use the stove no matter what. I can't believe Millar's would leave their customers in such unsafe conditions and even encourage the continued use of such a dangerous broken appliance. Given, he had the same combustible gas detector we got from Menards so perhaps I should have anticipated his assessment would be unreliable.
I wish I could say we didn't have to pay them but since all we paid was the initial $100 for him to come out and asses the stove, which he did even if his assessment was dangerously wrong, I felt I couldn't ask for a refund.
I wasn't even going to leave a review but Millar's texted me, misspelling my name, to leave a review. I hope anyone considering hiring them for a gas appliance sees this review and changes their mind. Perhaps they do fine work with other appliances but we won't ever be...

I made a service call in early October (Thursday, October 10) because our refrigerator/freezer wasnât working. They came right away the following day. Looked at it and it needed a few parts, should be in on Tuesday. I called the following week and one part was in, the other part was on back order for an unknown time. I called every week to check the status and got no new information. I called them. They never once called me to give me any kind of updates. Meanwhile, I still have no working refrigerator. We eventually went out and bought one for the garage (definitely not from Millarâs.) Finally, after almost a month, Iâve had it. I called Maytag directly on Monday, November 4th and to my surprise, the part was in stock and had never been on back order. I called Millarâs back and Rhonda said they go through their supplier not directly through Maytag. I ordered the part myself, it arrived the next day on Tuesday, November 5th. I called Rhonda the next day (Tuesday, November 5th) to let her know the part was out for delivery already. She said âIâll try and get someone out there tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then the next day.â I called her the next day since I hadn't heard anything again and she was surprised I had the part already and bummer, I have to wait yet another day. The repair man came the following day (Thursday, November 7th) and was really nice. Got everything up and running again. However, I still had to pay for the service call, labor and part even after waiting an entire month. No kind of discounts offered or given at all. Ridiculous! I will never ever shop here again and will gladly go back to the big box stores. I will also be sure to let everyone I know to never shop here again!
