3 days only 2021 Hours Fri 12pm-11pm (no entry after 9pm) Sat 12pm-11pm (no entry after 9pm) Sun 12pm--8pm This year was The return of the Bangor State Fair normally the state's largest Fair.
Last year the fair was canceled due to covid this year they held a toned down version of the fair which in my estimation is about half the size that it normally is. There are no animal attractions this year and two of the rides that they did have were not open on Friday.
However there is a lot of pent-up demand and probably covid fatigue so the fair was extremely busy.
At 8:30 p.m. on Friday there were very long lines to get in for the entry fee long lines for tickets and extremely long lines for every ride and every single vendor there was only one vendor of each type which caused severe bottlenecks for some vendors such as the doughboys fried dough vendor. The doughboy vendor for myself was a 33 minute wait on the short side.
Also while the entry fee is a separate kiosk and does take debit cards the ticket kiosk which you need to for the rides or bracelet was cash only and all vendors are cash only there is no ATM on site.
Personally I felt the lack of taking debit or credit cards in 2021 on top of cash being very dirty in general is a severe oversight, it's why I took...
Read moreBeen going 20 yrs now and this year was just horrible 😔😒The rides only numbered a few of each kids and adults and maybe even less than that really. The prices of the rides were even worse and went on point system. Almost 5$ a ride with out band for merry-go-round😔Their was no parking on the interior field and only parking was in the civic ctr or road. Handicap parking was only in front of civic ctr and it was a long walk for us. Bag search and line was a horrible wait. No inside food or drink and the vendors we're maybe five of them at the most and EXPENSIVE 😳Who ever heard of a boils sausage at the fair with onions for 12$ or a simple pullpork for 12& and doughboys jumped up to 8$ from 6$. Restroom facilities were minimal also😒🙄 We went for the demolition derby but found you couldn't see from ground level because of fence with the usual barricades which those were normal. Grand stand un access able to the handicap 😔very crowded and hot as well. SHOCKING EXPERIENCE 😔 Was NOT worth time or...
Read moreTypical american county or in this case state, fair. Lousy rides, overpriced, mediocre at best fair food, terrible games and sketchy ride operators. An negative is the fact this is the only fair in the country that takes place on a vacant parking lot with large potholes and asphalt rocks to let your children trip and fall on. There is NO GRASS anywhere on the main fairground area, all pavement. It seems in recent years, the contracted by the city of Bangor, Fiesta Shows, has cut lots of corners as far as what rides they bring to the fair. I'm not getting into the condition of the rides....old! Anyways, the one positive is the flat rate admission is back, it had decent side shows (monster trucks, demolition derby, comedy shows). Please bring another fair ride company City of Bangor! Fiesta shows has made this fair lousy in...
