Fireside Inn & Suites Bangor — Hotel in Bangor

Beware of Hanna and this Hotel.!!!! I arrived at this location after driving in a snow storm 4 hours to Bangor for my daughter's Christmas present. I am a single mother and am on disability due to my PTSD. So this trip was not an easy thing for me to afford. My daughter and I arrived with no greeting and wanted for almost 20 minutes. When a woman named Hannah entered. She was not friendly and not apologize for leaving us there to wait. I had saved my bottle return money to avoid this trip so only had cash. Hannah then stated since I did not have enough money on my debit card for incidentals I could not stay there. I just to explain my situation and that we drove for over 1 1/2 hours longer to get there due to the storm. I attempted to plead with this women, but not only did she not have good costumer service, but lacked kindness or empathy. I tried to explain that I had cash to pay for the room and my daughter would have no way to go. Again with no remorse or compassion we could not stay there. I began to weap...since I had planned this for months. I attempted to plead again" where will we go, I have money to pay. Please it is just me and my child" she just kept repeating in a stern voice with not an once of kindness. You can't stay. Wearing I begged please I can pay where will we go..she doesn't repeated no. I requested to speak to a manager. Thinking there must be something they could do and she refused to let me speak to one. At this time an older woman came in inquiring about the parking gate and she snapped at her as well. I then left in tears, scared and cold about to have a panic not knowing where we could sleep . We luckily were able to receive help from a family member to use their card. This woman nor apologized, or showed remorse and was actually cold and I was so uncomfortable and overwhelmed especially with my PTSD. I couldn't even go back to the desk where she was and my daughter had to do it. If you want to be treated and greeted with respect, a warm smile! DON'T STAY HERE!!! If you want to be treated like trash and have your night ruined then be my guest. I cried all night and my anxiety was so high I was up till 6 because I couldn't calm down! the room was pleasant and couldve l been enjoyed but diffinitly NOT worth the disrespectful reception named HANNA. I really enjoyed my stay here, this hotel is in a great location. I clean houses as a living and thought that the cleanliness of my hotel room was definitely up to par. The staff was nice, and the attached restaurant was very convenient and the food was great. The servers were great there as well. It's nice that check out is at 11:00 instead of earlier in the morning. So we got to relax a little bit before we actually had to leave. Parking was good. The only problem we had was the Wi-Fi kicking us off later at night. We did try to call the number that they provided but we were not able to get through to anyone, which wasn't a big problem, just kind of inconveniencet ( it's important to note that the hotel can not control the Internet company and it's not their fault if the connection is flaky). The Internet was back to working right in the morning. Check out and in was fast and easy, but beware that the front desk is also in the same entrance to the restaurant so it can get busy and crowded around meal times. Would not recommend this location. Very rude front desk workers.Arrived to check in,wanted to pay for the weekend, was told couldn't pay until checking out. Was quoted 3 different amounts. Asked for a cot to be added, the person actually rolled his eyes. Room was fine except for no A/C, went to front desk next morning hoping to get someone else so we could pay. Did get someone else, not much better experience, but did get to pay in full. Asked for managers name and person on the night before, very hesitant to give me, still not sure if it was the correct names. Saturday night , people running up and down hallways yelling,slamming doors until 4 am. We were on first floor not sure why this is ok. Upon leaving forgot something in room, had to go to front desk, explained needed to get back in room, person never said one word just activated a key to get back in room. Got outside to load car, person passed out in a car beside us, door wide open car running. I have stayed at other Lafayette properties in the past and have always had a pleasant experience.
