We stop by every year and shop during the Christmas season. This year I found an ornament that I loved. It was my favorite thing and I really wanted it. It was strange though, a girl with purple hair working there stopped me and asked me where I got the ornament. I told her on the shelf and she told me that it wasnât for sale and she was holding it for someone else. She took it from me and said she would try to find another one. When I checked out she told me she couldnât find another one. I was so bummed out that it ruined the rest of my afternoon and I didnât feel like Christmas shopping anymore. Iâm so disappointed with my experience that I probably wonât be back. My suggestion is that if youâre going to hold something for someone else, put it behind the counter so that someone else doesnât pick it up and get their heart set on it.
Note added after reply from owner- I would definitely not want to buy something that someone else also had their heart set on, that isnât my complaint. I want to point out that at no point did I ever go behind the counter. The shelf that I grabbed the ornament from had items on it that were on display and for sale so Iâm not sure how you expect customers to know what is for sale and what is not. The ownerâs response just reinforces my decision...
Read moreOh my goodness! Ms. Gabby (sp?) is amazing! Not only can she sell ice cubes to an Eskimo, but she is a fantastic Host. As soon as we walked in, we were greated by a young woman and the staff was super friendly. Ms. Gabby stands out because she gives samples of the product (so yummy!) and makes you a part of the At Mary's experience. So many beautiful things to look at, and whoever does the interior design should be commended; I'd love for my home to look like the rooms they have! What a beautiful place with so many amazing employee's to help with ANYTHING. They love what they do and appreciate the products they sell. A definite Must-stop in your tour...
Read moreMy wife and I dropped in "At Mary's" after lunch Friday, April 19th. It's one of my wife's favorite little shops to check out when we travel to Bardstown. The staff again was fun, friendly, accommodating. We did bourbon samples, joked, laughed with the "At Mary's" wonderful team. Ms. Gabby and her cohort in crime was a hoot! We bought the famous bourbon balls. Delicious! We came back the next day with our friends to buy more bourbon balls and I bought my wife the horse print that she could not stop thinking about the last time we were here a year ago. A must stop on your trip to Bardstown to shop,, sample, or just to hang with the wonderful lady's of...
