Horrible Experience – Poor Customer Service & Unprofessional Staff

My wife and I had a very disappointing experience at this store. At 9:30 PM (30 minutes before closing), employees began turning off lights, making it difficult to shop. When my wife politely asked why the lights were being turned off early, an employee (who we were told was named (Annel) responded with attitude, saying it was because the store was closing soon and that "corporate controls the lights."

We asked to speak to the manager (Allie), who also seemed indifferent and repeated the same excuse, claiming there was nothing she could do. Neither the manager nor the other employee wore name tags, making us question if they even provided their real names. The only employee who did have a name tag was the cashier, Mellisa, who claimed she didn’t know her coworkers' names because she had "just started a few days ago."

The lack of professionalism was shocking—no smiles, no gratitude for shopping there, and no effort to make our experience pleasant. The employees acted as if they didn’t care, and the manager offered no resolution or apology.

I hope corporate takes this seriously and either retrains staff or hires employees who actually value customers. Until then, I will not be shopping here again.

It's amazing what items you can buy Dollar Tree for just one dollar -- such as Mylar Helium Balloons & Greeting Cards. This location is the least busy/crowded of all locations I've shopped. Update Jun'25, Sat.eve 9:18pm. Tho closing time is 10pm, about half the lights were off, incl mostly the check-out lane area. The store looked closed. I saw the hours on the door--10pm, so I went in. They were open, but at 9:30, they turned off most of the lights for a second to indicate they're soon closing (but no announcement). I definitely felt unwelcome...

Tuesday Night 7/22/25 #dollartree and some young female employee wearing a shower cap seemed to be really a miserable human being. I guess if you are so miserable at your job maybe do something else. When i rang the bell for service at the check out she screamed something from whatever aisle she was in which sounded like she was pissed off , when she arrived at cashier station i said hello which she coudnt bother to reciprocate. Extremely rude . Beyond words that people are this miserable and lack basic social skills. ...
