⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointed Returning Customer – Decline in Service and Professionalism I was referred to Home Furniture on Airline Hwy in Baton Rouge by a repeat customer back in 2023. After work one evening, I stopped by the store in my work attire to purchase new dining and living room sets. Kenn, the representative who helped me, was very professional and helpful. Within an hour, he completed my sale, secured delivery, and added a 5-year warranty. It was my first major furniture purchase, and I left extremely satisfied — even recommending the store to others. In 2025, I returned to process a warranty claim for a damaged furniture piece, and this experience was completely different. When I walked in on my day off, Sonia greeted me kindly and began assisting right away. She mentioned that Kenn, now in management, would be with me after his meeting. This second visit took much longer than my first one, and when Kenn finally assisted, his behavior, body language, and communication made me feel as though I wasn’t being heard. It was disappointing to see such a change in professionalism from someone who once provided great service. As Sonia and I finalized the replacement order, another employee, Harry, called across the store loudly saying I could pick up my furniture on a certain day and time. He yelled the information rather than walking over to inform us of a quicker way to get my furniture than delivery, which felt highly unprofessional and inappropriate. Sonia and I continued with the delivery option. Two days before delivery, I returned to ask if I could pick up the furniture instead. A young lady at the register started to help but called for Sonia, and Harry stepped in, completed the paperwork, and told me I could pick it up the next day. This visit felt nothing like my first one. Ironically, the delivery personnel were more helpful and courteous than the store personnel and management I dealt with. The only noticeable difference was how I was dressed. I left feeling stereotyped and undervalued, which was disappointing after once being such a satisfied customer. Read moreDO NOT BUY THE WARRANTY!! It’s a waste of money. We were told that if we buy the 5 year warranty that if anything happens to the sofa they would replace it no questions asked. It would be soooo simple. If my son drew on it or if wine spilled on it or any damage they would replace it. Well two years later I tried to file a claim. It literally took 2 months to get through to someone because I was hung up on or placed on extremely long holds or never called back after leaving a message. Finally after not giving up I got someone to send out a technician to come look at my couch. I told them the springs were broken on one side. Tech came out and said the springs were fine and that the “cushion was busted” and that he would order new ones and they would be sent out. 5 days later they call and tell me the cushions are not covered under the warranty and I’d have to pay out of pocket. The furniture is nice but not built well. It definitely won’t last. I know the springs are broken and will have to buy a new sofa. I’m extremely disappointed because the guy who sold us the furniture really insisted that we get this warranty and now I feel like it was a waste of money and I was scammed. I have been a customer since 2013 and all my furniture that I have purchased from there since then is still in tact and good condition...On today I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and my sales representative Ms.Maria was AWESOME!!!! She greeted me and my family immediately, and gave us time to choose what we wanted. I loved that fact that she didn't follow us around and keep asking and pressuring us to purchase different things like some pushy sales people do at other places..She allowed us time to walk the entire store and make our selections. She checked on us often but again she allowed us time to make our selections. Once we made our selections, she verified everything that we choose and guided us to the office to pay for our purchase. Very PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY and overall the best customer service experience I have had in a long long time. HOME FURNITURE has always been my favorite store and employees like Maria is the exact reason why...Thanks again Maria.
