Little Wars — Local services in Baton Rouge

First of all, I can't tell who owns this place, who runs this place, and who is just one of the owner/operator's "buddies." The organization is dismal, and it is hard to find anything. That wouldn't be so bad, though, if the owner(s) acted like they cared at all about having customers! They never greet you when you walk in (can't be bothered to look up from what they are playing with to do so). The staff acts so annoyed if you interrupt their gaming to ask for help. If you can get their attention, they make it obvious that they don't want to deal with you... and most of the time, they don't have what you were looking for in the first place! They carry things THEY like, not a full range of gaming books and supplies. I play Pathfinder and Dungeons and Dragons. The selection of miniatures is VERY limited... mostly Warhammer, and the specialty dice (bronze metal) that I wanted to buy on the spot were "out of stock" and they had "literally no idea" when they would have more. The place is always cluttered and dirty, too. I wish Baton Rouge gamers had a better store to patronize, but alas, this one is clearly the owner's "clubhouse" instead of a...

Let me start by saying that i used to absolutely love going to Little Wars, but now it seems like no one cares that a customer walks into the store. Nowadays, it seems more like a place for the owner and his close group of friends to hang out.

Here is how my last experience played out in the store... First, I walk in only to have people awkwardly look up at me and hush their conversations. Looking around the room, I can't really tell who is running the place or find anyone who even remotely looks like an employee. Nevermind that, I did come in to get supplies for my next Pathfinder session and I all ready know my way around the store. So, I pick up a few things and walk around for about 5 minutes. Still no one has acknowledged that I even walked in. Standing at the counter now, I want to speak with someone about finding some miniatures, but still nothing. Frustrated, I finally just walked out the store...I'll just order my...

Waited in line to get the price of a card and was not acknowledged by the girl at the front desk at all. She was busy doing something else so I waited there patiently for her to finish. Well, someone else had been waiting behind me for a shorter time and she butted in front of me to tell the front desk girl that she needed to buy something. The girl at the front desk said she would be happy to help as the girl behind me got in front of me and handed her item to the front counter. The girl at the front desk never even looked at me to ask if I needed something before this girl behind me checked out so I just walked away. I know nothing is normally done when reviews like this are done but this place is small enough to where I hope someone higher up would talk to this employee about their poor...
