EDIT 2: Went back again using the gift cards the manager sent following my original post. Many things were improved from the first visit: the food was ready quickly even though I ordered in store; the serving size for the chicken la madeleine was larger, but still smaller than you get in store (it's possible they've changed portion sizes on this); and the food was generally better (potato soup was good). On the downside, the chicken la madeleine was just OK, and the side of green beans were close to inedible. I'm giving this a final rating of three stars because the food is "okay" and it's priced well, and the service was better. It's also nice that the manager cared enough to reach out and send gift cards.
EDIT: Added a star. Manager reached out to apologize and offer gift cards to give this location another try, which I will do and update here.
ORIGINAL: This location seems to have gone downhill so fast that it could have medaled in the Winter Olympics. I used to eat at this location all the time. Today I picked up dinner for my family for the first time in a while from this location. We had a number of problems. The first was that my 15-20 minute wait turned into 50 even though there was maybe one other customer when I got there. I ordered the chicken la madeleine, which I used to always get. This time, the serving size for the entree was about 1/4 the size as it used to be (see photo). It was also cold and tasted about half as good as it used to. This was a full price dinner combo. They also failed to sub the broccoli for mashed potatoes. My wife’s potato soup was also not good, and it used to be very good. It looks like most of the recent reviews agree, one-star....
Read moreThis might be a fine place to go if you're just ordering from the bakery case, but I would stay away if you're getting a meal. I ordered the tomato soup and strawberry crepes. My parents also ordered strawberry crepes. Service was fine but not very friendly. The soup was fine. But the crepes were pretty strange. There was green stuff on all three of our crepe plates that I'm pretty sure was bits of broccoli. It definitely wasn't supposed to be there. We thought maybe it came off the server's gloves, but then we noticed some was inside the crepes as well. So that was concerning. I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures. The crepe filling was tasty but there was a TON of powder on top and it did not taste like normal powdered sugar. It tasted like ground up Fun Dip sticks and the texture was very odd. My dad saw one of the kitchen staff lick a spoon, shrug, and set it down. Hopefully they washed it but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just stuck it back in whatever they were mixing up. It's a shame because the restaurant is adorable and seemed like a great place to hang out, but the food...
Read moreI had originally visited sometime in April. I'd been driving by around lunchtime and noticed it seemed kinda cozy, as well I had gone to one in my youth due to a French class. From there, I turned into the parking lot of the strip mall. (Plenty of parking, and there's also takeout.) I was curious as to whether or not they had any savory crêpes, so I looked up the menu online and found one under Chicken la Madeleine and went inside. It's very comfortable, to the point I wanted to just relax and read by the fireplace they had (didn't emit heat, so not sure if that feature works). They even had assortments of desserts! (From what I saw, they even do catering.) It seemed a bit slow, and everyone was pretty nice. I ordered my crêpe with a side of mashed potatoes. It was pretty good. The potatoes were a tad sweet, interestingly enough. It was nice enough to visit again with a friend last month. (We sat outside.) Had the mushroom soup (creamy, though it seemed to taste like it had the same base as the potato soup my friend ordered), half a quiche, and some salad for a pretty good...
