Hi. It was dog’s first day at a daycare and just within an hour, he was bit (by a doodle, I believe I was told) and needed surgery and stitches. I was told that my dog was a bit “stand-off-ish” at first which I assumed he would be because it is his first time in a daycare, and he was a pandemic pup so he wasn’t really socialized as much as I wanted him to. But I did take him to dog parks and he did pretty well and got along with other dogs. So I was hoping that daycare would benefit him and be good for him while I was gone for the day. Anyways, I was told he was growling and snapping (not biting) at the other dogs that were approaching him (because he probably felt scared or threatened) and that a doodle bit his neck.
First off, I would not like to blame the daycare entirely for anything. They informed me on what happened and cleaned off the blood before I picked him up. It also states in their waiver (that I signed of course) that they are not responsible for dog bites (I was not expecting this to happen at all). But I do wish that they had taken my dog out of the situation or separated the dogs at least if they saw that they were becoming a little hostile.
I took him to the vet where they said that he required surgery and stitches (which i was totally not prepared to pay for so suddenly). And they actually told me that this is their 3rd daycare incident they had recently. And the other two dogs had broken their legs from bites. (The other two dogs were not from Dusty’s)
I’m sure majority of the dogs at this daycare are friendly but i just wanted to inform everyone or anyone that there was a dog that was capable of biting. I’m not exactly sure what happened, I just know what I was told. Anyone could say maybe my dog (Theo), provoked him by growling and snapping, but Theo most likely felt scared in the situation.. and the dog just bit him, which I don’t think is right. I hope the owners of the dogs were informed about the situation. And I do hope nothing like this happens to...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. I was really hoping this place would be great. As a new dog parent i was hoping that a place, with such great ratings, would take the time to explain the process and be helpful. After the first day they said Remi(4month lab/retriever mix) got into a few fights and had to separate her. I was watching on the camera wasn't sure how she had started it, but I wasn't fully watching and I am new to all of this. So I asked, ok well can she come again? Gentleman at the front seemed to flipflop with his responses and generally didn't seem like a pleasant human being. A woman came out who was much more pleasant and said that new puppies take some time adjusting and that we shouldn't worry if she came back. So Day 2 at daycare. Since I was worried about her previous bad behaviors I was watching her like a hawk. Not only was she well behaved , other smaller dogs were biting her legs and biting her neck. She never fought back and tried to run away from them. What did the staff do you ask. Nothing! They were either sitting doing nothing or off camera. The pictures I included are the result of that. If the pictures aren't clear she received an infection on her neck from one of the dogs biting her. Oh and when my girlfriend went to pick her up. They accused her of starting the fight when on the camera that i watched all day showed otherwise. I have since then switched to a walker Anything Pawsible. Great company where the owner personally keeps in touch with you. She has no issues with the dogs she plays with both big and little with the playdates we have been to. I would not recommend this place if you have a...

I picked up my dog and she was injured!! This is our second time with Dusty's Dog House and it was really bad! We left her for 10 days and when I picked her up, they said she got into a fight with other dogs and she was injured that's why they had to isolate her for majority of her stay.
I talked to the owner and they said a couple of marks are normal when dogs play and he also said that we signed a waiver releasing them from liability in case of any injury. I understand that dogs can get injured and that they have no liability. I guess I expected too much from them considering we paid close to $700. It would have been better if we were updated of what was happening throughout, instead of finding about it only when we picked her up. It also would have been good if they took her out once in a while to walk/play and sent a few pictures of how she was doing.
When you leave your dog in a place like this, you want your dog to enjoy and you want to have the peace of mind that she will be safe and taken care of, and not be injured, locked up and isolated!! I dont think my dog enjoyed her stay here and, considering the marks she has all over her body, she definitely was not well taken care of. I am really...
