I have been going here for years and have been very satisfied with the food even raved about it when I had visitors come this weekend so we decided to order and what I found out was quite the opposite. Along with your dinner, you’re supposed to get rice and beans there were maybe 10 beans in the sauce For each of us.. The yellow rice I ordered with pigeon peas, did not even have the peas in it, but had a few little tiny pieces of vegetable it was not fresh but seemed old. The barbecue ribs were dry and everything else was only OK when this used to be a terrific place to go to eat that you would read about the food oh, and the Maduros that I used to get A good portion of was such a tiny portion plus everything was cold, even though I called ahead of time to order it we had to reheat it all. I was so embarrassed because I had highly recommended it . I can’t believe of both things beans that are the cheapest things around. You would skimp on in the past, everything was wonderful and you were quite filled up at the end of eating a meal. The pernil and chicken stew was OK. As I said, before, the barbecue ribs were dry and had no taste. Extremely disappointed after all the years I have been going here and I will never recommend them again and I will probably never go again. I spent over $100 because I had company and all of it might’ve been worth maybe 20 at the most. Horrible rude staff! Went in today along with a friend. It was a bit crowded, so we knew we would have to wait in line, which was fine. We wait, a lady starts to take my friend's order, my friend says 1 item the lady cuts her off to start serving it, then leaves it on the back counter and goes to pack other orders and ring people up. Okay, again, we know people in front of us come first. Then a tall male starts to take my order, he doesn't understand,so my tries to help he still didn't understand. He gets a female for help after 4 tries of telling them what I wanted, and they figure it out. ( It was just the breaded chicken breast, with rice and beans.) My friend speaks spanish, but the male couldn't hear or understand her, i guess. My friend then tells the male that the lady was taking her order and then stopped. The male then tells us, "Well, she needs to finish your order, I can't." He walks away to start the orders for the people behind us. My friend grabs his attention again and says, " Well I was here first. How are you serving the people after me before I can even order." The male says, "In Spanish, I can't help you. You Stupid Americans. " My friend was shocked, again I don't speak Spanish. She tells me what he just said. We left without food. How are you going to have people work for you, who can't take a simple order, then when called out, call us Stupid Americans. This is why people get upset, I understand the wait, the disorder sometimes, but being straight up rude and racists isn't it. On 08/02/24 i ordered food from Dominican Power….One hour after I had placed the order I called to confirm my order had left the restaurant and I was told it was on its way. 30 minutes after that I called the restaurant again to let them know I still had not received my order. At that point the person said my order had not been put in because she had went to lunch and forgot to put in my order. She also stated she was going to pack my food and send it my way asap. Two hours after I originally placed my order it was finally delivered and the order was entirely wrong. On 08/03/24 I place an order again! This time the food came on time but the entire order was wrong again. I ordered moro de habichuela negra, but they sent arroz con guandules. I ordered 4 pastelitos de carne and one of cheese. All five pastelitos were of chicken. I ordered carne guisada gravy, I paid for it, but I didn’t receive it. I even confirmed various times before paying for the order over the phone that they had everything I was ordering and wasn’t running the risk of something being sold out. The person over the phone said they had everything I was ordering. Two days in a row this restaurant messed up. Not one person apologized or even offered to refund or at least resend the correct order. I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for many years and it’s a shame that they treat their loyal paying customers so disrespectfully. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.
