Worst experience EVER! I have never purchased anything from Ulta and now I see why. First off it wasn't the associates in the store. The ladies were nice and helpful. I wanted to try a new brand of makeup and its not sold at Sephora...my go to place of course. I ordered online and received my email for order pickup. In the email it clearly stated that I could go into the store or do curbside pickup. There was a number to call once I got to the store and further instructions on the pickup. I got to the store and called the number but of course they don't offer curbside pickup. I explained what the email said and was told they don't do it at this store. Ok fine...strike 1. I pickup the makeup and I'm not given ANY paper receipt and told that my receipt would be emailed to me. So about 30 minutes later I get an emailed receipt. So I'm thinking ok no problem. Of course the color of the makeup is off and I go back to the store to EXCHANGE it for the correct color. I go to the counter, show the receipt, and I'm told no problem just go get the correct color. I do as instructed and go back to the counter. I get to the counter and I'm then told that I can't exchange the makeup because I don't have the "proper" receipt. It will be emailed in 24 hours. I need to come back tomorrow to EXCHANGE the makeup. Strike 2 I understand with COVID right now most places are using email receipts. But what I don't understand is if I make a purchase via the store app and choose to pick it up. WHY can't I make a return or exchange with the receipt that was sent from the company. Really?You know for sure when and where it was purchased. You see the total I paid for the purchase but yet I cant return it. It's a receipt but it's not the correct one. Then I'm told that it's not in the system yet and that's why I cant EXCHANGE the makeup. Strike 3 This is completely stupid because the company policy on returns that was included with the receipt but not receipt says...."If you would like to exchange a product for the same item, no payment is required-just bring it in and you're good to go." And this is copied from the email I received. This is completely opposite of what's happening when you actually go into the store. I will NEVER purchase anything from Ulta again. What should have been a simple transaction is now turned into getting the run around. This is why I only deal with Sephora. I log into my account and make a purchase and it's there. No waiting for a 24 hour update. Plus, if you need to return something your receipt is an actual receipt and it's no problem. Ulta should really start to stand by its store policy. If I could leave no stars and give negative stars I would. First and the last time to purchase here and I purchase makeup several times a month. I showed her my picture and she flat out said No. And im like... what do you mean NO. She began telling that she wasn't going to try and tackle it. She said something about my tones being warm. And how much bleach this would take an how much it would damage my hair. And that it definately wouldnt be done in one session. I told her I already knew that but that was the whole point of the consulation so that i could figure it out. It seemed like she just wanted to tell me no and rush me out the door. I asked an employee to help me, I did not get to catch her name but she was busy and said she would come right back to help me, a few minutes later she is just standing around laughing with her coworkers. Next I tried to ask another employee and all she did was grab a random foundation off of one of the racks and said to try this one (keep in mind that it was the literally the last foundation on the whole display). She didn't even bother to try and show me any other brands she would have thought could work for me. All she did was grab one and said try it and if it wasn't the correct shade I can just bring it back and get a refund or another one.
