Read moreI ate at El Viejo Tony restaurant in Beaumont on 7/19 evening. I ordered the papa nachos and tostada with a watermelon margarita. Although our sever was friendly the manager Fernando was not. He walked around asking if every thing was ok. He wasn't expecting me to say no. When I told him no the appetizer came out with the main course and it was disgusting. He told me it don't matter I had to pay for it any way. When I asked him if they bring anything out regardless of how it is you have to pay for it he said yes. I took the smallest taste of of the papa nachos I forgot to take a pic from arguing with him. He continued to go back and fourth with me. I asked if he was the store manager he said yes. So then I told him I was leaving a review and calling corporate or district office. He then elected to take the item off my receipt. Nall buddy to late for that. So all that being said tostada was good, papa nachos suck and the alleged store manager Fernando is not trained well...
Read moreMy wife and I ate there shortly after they opened. I got the lunch beef fajitas and she got the flautas. At that time they were the best she ever had, I enjoyed the lunch fajitas but was slightly disappointed by the portion (it was barely enough to make two). Today, she got the same and I got the cowboy burrito. We were very disappointed. Before she got 3 flour tortilla based flautas but this time just two corn tortilla based flautas and she got less less rice and beans than I did on my lunch plate (hers was not on the lunch menu). Good service but the food was disappointing. The first time there was worth a trip back, this time, not so much. Too inconsistent, never have experienced this with Elana's, Carmella's, Monterrey's or any other Mexican restaurant in Beaumont. Two visits to the same "new" restaurant were completely different...in a bad way. I know this place is locally owned but good luck based on...
