Adorn West — Local services in Beaverton

I took my daughter to get her lobes pierced here back in December 2017. She was almost 9 and we had discussed it for a while before she finalized her decision.

I called ahead to make sure they allowed minors, what paperwork would be needed, etc. Definitely a good idea, since I don't walk around with the required paperwork usually.

The process was fantastic. First, they required informed consent, which is HUGE for me. They talked to her, clarified to and through me when needed, and made sure she knew what was happening the whole way and that she wanted the piercings. We waited for everyone else to go ahead since piercing a minor takes a bit longer. We just looked at jewelry and talked. It was around an hour to get in, but it was busy. The piercing itself and aftercare were done thoughtfully (making sure she knew what to do) and it was quick. She loves her now-healed piercings!

The shop is, of course, very clean. I feel bad saying that because I've never seen one that isn't, but since the stereotype is pervasive and this is regarding piercing a minor, I'll mention it. It's a very welcoming shop. I wouldn't hesitate to bring any of my kids back here, and I'm planning on going there myself soon.

ETA: It's 2024 and we have been back another couple times, same kiddo got a septum piercing and another got a double lobe. I have nothing but raves for this parlor and the piercers. They are so informative, friendly, calming, and most importantly competent. I plan on going here for any/all piercings.

If you are reluctant based on pricing, I promise it is worth it. My kiddo's septum is perfectly placed. Lobes are well spaced. Piercers have been so accommodating and knowledgeable. Even overhearing another client with issues from a previous piercing and surgery, she left very happy.

Right at the start I just wanted to say thank you again to Ann who was so kind and helpful when I first emailed Adorn, it had been 4-5 years since my last tattoo and getting back into it during COVID was more than a little scary, but she was so helpful and kind with answering my initial email, she's awesome!

Josiah took care of my forearm piece today, and if you read nothing else - I 100% recommend him. He worked hard with me throughout the discussion phase and was always happy to answer any questions I had and work with me on any issues that came up prior to arriving.

Once I was there, he took great COIVD precautions and had prepared such a beautiful piece for me. He's easy to talk to and made me feel much better about getting another tattoo (my nerves kicked in a bit after getting to the shop just because of how long it had been since my last tattoo). He has a great eye for how to place and frame a tattoo, and I felt safe trusting his instincts.

After we got started I was amazed at how skilled he was with the needle. I actually dozed off during most of the session just singing along to the music in my head while he worked. By far the happiest I've been getting a tattoo done (this was my fifth piece, first with Adorn).

I also really appreciated that he was okay with me not talking much during the actual process. I'd let him know I was still doing good or comment when I was surprised at how easy it was going/once we hit a spot that actually felt more intense. He had a good eye for when a certain area was more difficult for me and was quick to let me know when it was over so that I could relax and reset.

I frequent Adorn East more than West but that's just distance related; I do have to say that Adorn is the best piercing place you're going to find around here. As someone who's spent a lot on jewelry and appointments and troubleshooting past piercings that didn't go so right with other places. Adorn is the place to go to, to not only start your healing journey for piercings that are causing issues but it's the place to be in terms of vibe and culture, and obtaining knowledge. It's worth the price of the jewelry.

At Adorn West I can vouch for Lia, Ben, and Kara at this location. They always bring the energy and the most welcoming attitude. Kara is so good at telling you how much everything is going to cost before you go in. She (asked for pronouns) is super patient when I'm looking at all the gorgeous jewelry.

That's another point to be made. I think people, especially myself, forget that every piece is HAND CRAFTED so you're basically purchasing art every time you purchase a jewelry piece so if you're wondering about the price, that's why. Also, because there's no other shops near by that sell anything like what Adorn has. Adorn is one of a kind and it has one of kind people working for them.

Lia is the first piercer that ever made me feel like I found a place to call home when it comes to getting pierced. She is very honest and definitely someone that can guide you through your piercing journey. She is a light in a dark space.
