Center Market — Local services in Beaverton

There's a Chevron across the street that I'd recommend using instead. Here's why:

Fuel. Center Market doesn't sell gasoline for your car or diesel for your truck or plutonium for your time machine.

Coffee. Even if you don't drink it, the quality of the coffee is a key indicator of the quality of care in a convenience store. Does the coffee taste strong or watered down? (Thrifty owner trying to make a buck.) Does it taste burned, as if sitting on a hot burner? (Employee training or equipment problem.) Does it taste old and musky, as if the beans went bad? (Dirty equipment/receptacle.)

The coffee at this place is all three. It's watered down, burned and musky. It's clear that the brewing equipment needs a thorough cleaning, perhaps replaced. The premixed flavors (e.g., cappuccino, hot cocoa, etc) taste weak.

Hours of operation: Only applies if you're an early bird or a night owl. This place is closed from 1am - 6am making it useless to both.

A couple other tidbits:

While the human service is adequate, the card machine (point of sale) is a bit slow.

They get bonus points for stocking cinnamon Altoids. The Chevron lacks a good selection of gum/breath fresheners, and Center Market has plenty.

Center Market also stocks a variety of smoking apparatus, including pipes.

And, lastly, it has a lovely picnic area. Well, maybe not "lovely", but compared to most (nonexistent) convenience store parks, it's lovely - with a picnic table and a small, wooded area. Alas, the view on one side is ruined by a dumpster, but there's no odor. Good place to enjoy the sunshine and...

I have been going to this location for over 20yrs. The current owners are very kind. The owners I have no complaints and only kind words for them but.....they have hired a real piece of garbage to work in the afternoons at there store. This guy is rude and disrespectful. I am always bummed out to see him working but would still come in. After a second time with him trying to be dishonest with my scratch ticket and a keno ticket winning. Both times when I confronted him and pressed the issue to get my winnings he argued but finally gave me the correct amount. No apologies just a smart ass smirk.
