🔥 5 Stars Ikenohana in Beaverton Is a Whole Experience

Yo let me put you on real quick. I stopped by Ikenohana out in Beaverton, Oregon, and no lie… this place delivered. From the food to the vibe, everything was hitting. The service was a little on the slow side, but not in a bad way more like that “we cook with love, so hold tight” kind of energy. And honestly? Worth the wait.

I ordered the chicken katsu, and it came correct crispy, hot, and portioned like they actually care if you leave full. Came with a clean, refreshing salad 🥗, tasty miso soup, and some kind of fish noodles I couldn’t even name, but best believe I still ate it all.

Now here’s where it gets real I had a soft shell crab for the first time. Never tried it before, but I’m glad this was my intro because they nailed it. Crunchy, flavorful, fresh 10/10, would do it again.

The whole spot has this cozy, lowkey vibe that made me feel like I was sitting in some corner street restaurant in Japan. I’ve never been, but this made me feel like I caught a glimpse of it. Chill, comfortable, and just good energy all around.

If you’re in Beaverton and looking for real Japanese food that hits on flavor and vibe go check out Ikenohana. Thank...

It has been a while, but I realized I hadn't left a review, so I thought it might be helpful for someone. My friends and I used to come here often, but the service was always very slow from order to delivery. The last time we came, I ordered the unagi-don and my husband ordered the tonkatsu. It took 30 minutes for my unagi-don to arrive, and after waiting another 20 minutes for my husband's tonkatsu, I started eating. His tonkatsu finally arrived more than 40 minutes after my unagi-don, so we couldn't enjoy our meal together. The older lady who brought the food didn't seem to care and served it with a normal smile. I don't know if things have improved since then, but we haven't been back for over seven years. The food was nothing special, just average Japanese cuisine. It’s not typical for Japanese food to take so long to be served, and it’s certainly not acceptable. If this hasn’t been improved, the restaurant might mistakenly believe that such delays are normal, which reflects a level of arrogance that needs to be addressed. I hope they make the necessary...

I HATE leaving negative reviews, but I stopped in here weary from a long drive and excited to try a new place. It was a Monday night and there were two other parties in the restaurant. One couple was already eating and another party of about 6 who were ahead of us. They mostly ordered from the kitchen, not the sushi chef. Despite the restaurant being a ghost town it still took over an hour and a half to get our food and when it arrived they had forgotten the roll we were looking forward to the most.

The 3 rolls we did receive were alright. They seemed fresh, but they just weren't worth a massive wait. During this time our water glasses sat empty and no one came to update us, offer something faster from the kitchen or refill the glasses.

By the time our rolls came out they had pulled the blinds and started cleaning and we just didn't have time to wait for that 4th roll. I left and found dinner elsewhere.

TL:DR, Don't go here if you are in a rush, want quick service...

I was craving sushi and the fast-food style "track" sushi wasn't sounding very appealing, so I decided to give Ikenohana a try. I am so happy that I did because I am beyond impressed by this little gem, Ikenohana really blew me away! I showed up a little after 8 last night and ordered the chirashi bowl and a beer. Service was prompt and friendly and they soon brought out a basic salad, some vinegar noodles, and miso soup. This was a nice addition considering how reasonably priced everything was. When I received the chirashi bowl I knew I was going to be hooked to this place. It was a beautiful multi-layered summit of fresh colorful glistening seafood. Besides the generous portion, it is clear that the sushi chef takes pride in his work. The fish was beautifully sliced, the artful work of a traditional yanagiba single bevel sushi knife. All in all the food was positively immaculate, and I will be bringing my friends here immediately. Highly recommended.

First time visit. Coming in, it felt cozy and peaceful, sushi station manned by 2 elderly gentleness working steadily, concentrating on the food preparation... Ordered bento combos. Starter glass noodle salad, lettuce salad, and miso came, all of which had a well balance flavor! Note: lettuce salad should be eaten with a spoon. All of the main were okay to good. The okay part was unfortunately the sashimi, the most important part. It was a bit soft, especially what I thought was the yellowtail. It may be due to the fish being too thin... I was considering 5-star rating until the character of their sashimi was tasted and when I realized the sushi designation of the bento menu meant Nigiri... It's a good restaurant but does not warrent 5 stars.
