dine-in review (oct 2022) finally had a chance to dine in. High chairs available and they also had bowls and utensils for kids, which was nice. Tried the fried chicken fresh out of the kitchen instead of getting it to go - it tasted more crispy and delicious as expected. Ordered with green onion for an extra charge, and it also came with a delicious dipping sauce. Their soups tend to be pretty salty and taste like it has msg.... in the past I've had samgaetang to-go which was salty, and again, this time around, the kalbi tang was also very salty. The octopus stir fry barely had any octopus / were cut too small to notice or taste it much, but the flavor was good. Overall, it was a pretty good value and the service was good too. Would return for chicken and to try other items.
to-go review (2021) ordered boneless chicken online for take out. of course it was a bit soggy by the time we got home and fed baby first but it was still flavorful. pretty meaty pieces of chicken. soy garlic kind of tastes like ggan-poong-gi. spicy one isn't spicy at all so it would be better if there was a bit more spice/ kick (it tastes more like the traditional yang-nyum kfc). person greeting me was very friendly. would return to try the plain fried boneless...
Read moreIf you're in the area this is a DEFINATE visit! The food was all so tasty, and at first we were hesitant when we saw the prices, but the portions are LARGE. With three of us ordering separate entrées, we ended up with enough food left over to have for dinner as well, and none of us are small people. So yes, it may be more expensive than other places in the area but you can easily make two meals of it.
We ordered the calamari and beef brisket with vegetables combo, the garlic soy chicken, and the marinated beef short ribs. The calamari were excellent which is very rare in this area, almost any other restaurant overcooks this delicate meat. The short ribs were similarly perfectly executed with a touch of pink in the center and a nice char on the edge. The chicken was breaded well, not too thick, but it could have been crisper (we ordered take out so the steam from sitting in a box might have affected this). The only thing I was even remotely disappointed with were the gyoza we ordered as appetizers, they definately had a store bought frozen feel to them. I have yet to find a restaurant in the area that actually makes their own gyoza so I don't expect much more...
Read moreCompared to a lot of other places around the Beaverton area, this one is the southern soul food of Korean joints: A lot of menu items are deep fried (the Mandu is awesome), with heavy seasoning (sweet salty spicy savory sour), and lots of oil. Kimchee Jun was massive, largest I've ever seen packed with a ton of Kimchee and onions...so thick it kind of feel apart when eating, but the flavor was great...dipping sauce for it though needed more vinegar. Banchan was solid apart from the bean sprouts (needed a bit more sesame oil), Kimchee was REALLY good. The boneless sweet and spicy fried chicken was a little too sweet for me, liked the hint of cinnamon in it though. LA Kalbi ribs were perfect...very tender, and nailed the savory/sweet balance with the marinade. The buldak chicken sauce flavor was good, but the mozzarella on top was low quality...to do this dish up right you need whole milk mozzarella so the cheese gets really REALLY gooey and blends into the sauce flavor (recommendation to the chef). Staff was very friendly and attentive, nice surprise compared to most authentic Korean places. Will definitely return again to try...
