As I wrote at the bottom, I did add one Star back because the cashiers/staff are extremely helpful, friendly and just overall pleasant to deal with. The items I purchase here, certain cleaning supplies, kitchenware, bandaids, etc. are reasonably priced as well. You will also find everyday food items a lot cheaper here!
I have shopped here twics and each of the cashiers I dealt with were extremely friendly and the sales associates on the floor were always smiling and helpful.
I did take two stars off of my review for what I felt like was poor over the phone customer service that I just received.
I called to see if they carried a product and explained where said product could be found in the event that they did carry it I asked the polite gentleman who answered if he was able to assist me in letting me know whether or not they did in did carry this one specific brand or would I need to come into the store to see for myself. The young man explained that I could either come in myself or he could put me in the phone with someone who could assist me. He has a specific name for this person, not a name as in, "Mark, Paul or Peter", but a name as in, "Sales Floor Assistant". Althought that was not the exact name, I do not remember the specific title he used. I told him that I would appreciate it if he could transfer me to the person who could tell me if the product was available or not. (This was here I would not have to make a trip to the store for no reason).
The gentleman then put me on hold, or at least I thought he was going to or it seemed as if he did. The call was then disconnected. I immediately called back and the phone just rang with no answer and I hung up. I figured that maybe if I was on hold, they did not realize the line disconnected and that I should give it a minute. I waited three and a half more minutes and proceeded to call back. The phone just rang for one minute and fifty-seven seconds. A different gentleman then answered, (I knew it was a different man because he was older with an accent), then answered the phone and simply stated, "No We Do Not!". I admittingly surprised seeing as the phone was not even answered with a, "Hello" or this is "Grocery Outlet". The way it had been the first time. I kind of stumbled over my words and said, "Oh, so, you. Do no not. Do not have the Organifi Greens. I just wanted to double check that this was Grocery Outlet and you knew what I was calling for and I knew what you were referring to, seeing as I did not originally speak to you and then the line was disconnected as I was put on hold." The gentleman once again said, "No we do not". I thanked him for his time, told him to have a great day, and hung the phone up.
I truly did not know what to think of this at first seeing as I thought this to be pretty rude.
Obviously, they had my phone number so if we were disconnected they could have just called back. Especially since when I did call back it took them almost two full minutes to even answer the phone for me.
I don't even 100% trust the response from the gentleman because of the way the whole scenario played out and would like to go and see if they have the product. But then again, I feel like I am just all around done spending money at places who can't get it together when it comes to treating their customers with respect. But I also feel like If I go to that extreme I better be prepared to starve, to walk around naked or to never have anything that comes from a store again for that matter!
I just don't understand what the heck happened to good old customer service!
But then again, most of the cashiers at this grocery outlet are amazing, kind and friendly! So really I shouldn't let one bad egg spoil the bunch!
In fact I'm going to add another Star back to my review because I don't feel like this one man's bad attitude should account for all the kindness the other people in this store...
Read moreAffordable Prices, but Watch Out for Expiration Dates
This establishment offers competitive prices, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious shoppers. However, it's essential to be vigilant about the expiration dates on the products you purchase.
The store's business model revolves around procuring inexpensive goods from other retailers when the items are approaching their expiration dates. While this strategy allows them to offer lower prices to customers, it also means that the quality and freshness of the products may be compromised.
One of the drawbacks of this approach is the inconsistency in product availability. Each shopping experience can be different, as the store's inventory depends on what they can acquire from other retailers. This lack of consistency can be frustrating for customers who rely on the store for specific items or have found products they enjoy.
Another concern is the limited shelf life of the products due to their proximity to the expiration dates. Customers should be prepared to consume their purchases relatively quickly, as the ability to store food for an extended period may be restricted. This can be particularly problematic for those who prefer to buy in bulk or plan their meals in advance.
To make the most of your shopping experience at this store, it's crucial to carefully inspect the expiration dates on each item you consider purchasing. Don't hesitate to ask staff members for assistance in locating the freshest products available.
Local Guide Verdict. While this store offers budget-friendly prices, it's important to be mindful of the potential trade-offs in terms of product freshness and consistency. By being a diligent shopper and paying close attention to expiration dates, you can take advantage of the affordable prices while minimizing the risk of...
Read moreSo.... my husband and i popped in for a whole bunch of stuff not really needed and entirely missed the aisle I actually needed. Checked out with a lovely human who we joked with and she (they)helped us with a smile and genuine positivity. At the car I realized I forgot sugar and went back in.
Walked up to Aisle, 3 I think and the teller was finishing a conversation with the customer walking out aboutmhow some people just drain the energy out of you, i totally agree! And in service industry Oy! Its the worst. She bent to work on paperwork, her posture with body language certainly bespoke a tired, not happy already drained day. Poised with a smile on my face and light hearted banter ready to go, but wanting to allow her to finish with the paperwork, or to find out if she was still open, I tried to engage but failed and received her instruction that she needed to finish what she was writing, I tried to say no problem I'm patient do your thing with a smile ready to back it up. I have no idea what I said but obviously not what my head wanted because their response was "you don't have to take it personally it's not about you".
I took nothing personal at all I was freaking ready to joke and banter on with her. I do however, refuse to be disrespected and misaligned because of your bad mood and attitude with not allowing me to get a word in edgewise. So I said Nope, put my stuff down and walked out.
My apologies to the owner for leaving my stuff on the counter, to the person behind me for the inconvenience. And I do hope I didn't zap any more energy out of the teller and hope their day got better and had customers they could find energy they liked from. Apparently, mine didn't stand a...
