Visited The StockPot Broiler the evening of October 10, 2024. We made a 7 pm reservation for this visit. The hostess was nice and greeted us right away. We were seated promptly after we were greeted. Our menus were placed on the table leaning against a real burning candle. Our waitress came to our table to take our drink orders. We did not really have a chance to look over the drink menu at this point so we ordered water at this point. That seemed to annoy the waitress for whatever reason. There were no niceties, she was not verbally rude but there were faces made. By the time she returned with our water, we were ready to order our meals. My companion ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu and I ordered NW Bouillabaisse. My companion, I was told was very happy with their meal. The chicken was tender and the sauce was tasty. Their side of cheesy, red pepper mashed potatoes were pretty delicious. My order however of the NW Bouillabaisse was a different story. The waitress placed the bowl down if front of me then placed another bowl with a crab cracker and a seafood fork. I get the seafood fork for the clams. It comes in handy. I was confused about the crab cracker. Then I realized there were unshelled/uncracked crab legs in my tomato based NW Bouillabaisse. What a mess! I pulled the crab legs out into another bowl ( they were actually too tiny to crack open with the cracker and to messy to pull apart with my hands. I tried a little bit.). I have never been served Bouillabaisse with unshelled crab. The prawns were cooked perfectly so were the scallops. The market fish was missing. The base was extremely salty and the saffron was like that of the market fish, missing. I maybe got 3 or 4 bites then couldn’t do it anymore. When the waitress returned, there were no niceties, she did not ask about our meals even though most of my meal was still in the bowl and I did not request a take home container. We paid then left. The best thing about this visit was the hostess and the drink order my companion ordered from the bar. The hostess was very nice, eager to help, excited that we had reservations and made sure she wished us a good night when we left. The drink we ordered from the bar was basically an Old Fashion. They had another name for it I can’t remember what it was. It had all the tasty ingredients it...
Read moreI’ve been coming here off and on for the past 30 years. I brought my daughter here for the first time since she was a little kid. We sat in the bar, and had horrible service (girl with long reddish brown hair in a ponytail). She greets our table and asked what we would like to start with. I ordered water (for myself) while looking at the drink menu, and she takes off without acknowledging my 23 y/o. Just took off and didn’t ask her if she wanted anything. Brings two waters, and we ordered. My daughter very clearly orders a medium-rare filet that came out VERY well done (looked like over cooked pork), and was luke warm at best, to the touch. We proceed to ask our server if she would consider it MR, and she said yes. Asked if we wanted it redone and we said yes. She brings out the original plate of sides, and proceeds to ask my daughter if she wanted that while she waited for the steak. We said yes, thinking just the steak would come back but properly cooked. An entire plate came back out that looked amazing, and was cooked MR. It took a really long time, and not once did she come back to check on us, or to apologize for it taking so long. Never came back to see if it was prepared to my daughters specifications. We waited really long time for it to come back out, so when we received the bill, I asked if it was taken off, because the person who brought it out said “he’d take care of it”. She then proceeded to take it off the bill (the right thing to do…Ringside does this and it leads to repeat business). She brings back the bill and I tell her thank you for taking it off because it was my daughters first time here and we were really disappointed. She starts arguing with me (as she’s walking off!!!!!!), so I called her out on not only walking off as we were having a discussion (SO UNPROFESSIONAL), and then starts arguing with me about the original plate that was served. Who does that??!? I work at a high-end restaurant and if I did that, I would get chewed out. She needs to go!!! Highly unprofessional!! The three guys sitting behind us got better service and attention. NEVER argue with the guest!!! Never…. (Oh, and thanks for the apology. Never got one of those either). Won’t be going back anytime soon.
The person who is their food runner gave us better service than she did! He...
Read moreI recently had a thirty year High School reunion for our Oregon City class of 1985 at this venue on July 18th 2015. My co host and I had difficulty finding and affordable venue and she remembered The Stock Pot from a work luncheon she had with them many years ago. In January of this year I went in to meet with Murray Miller one of the Managers and immediately felt comfortable and confident. The holding fee was reasonable so I decided to go ahead and set the venue for our class.
Over the next six months he was always very open to any calls I made for any questions I had and six weeks before the reunion we met up again and went over all the details again for all assurances and suggestions to make sure I was happy and confident.
I cant tell you how happy I was with the whole process and the success of the reunion in general. The food buffet of warm Hor'devours, appetizers and fabulous desserts was very hearty and was delivered with excellent promise. The room was decorated tastefully in the colors asked for and well air conditioned. We had a screen for a DVD as were allowed to also decorate as needed for our own added desires and personal touch.
The only drawback was that the microphone was not up to parr and I had trouble speaking with it and had some of my speech cut out and had to raise my voice. I give special Kudos to Michelle Kirby for coming to my aide to help with this as she was very helpful all through the evening along with the other restaurants attendants. But I know the microphone problem will be resolved after speaking with Gary on this issue when I called to inform Mr. Miller of this problem and he was not available.
I will highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting a reunion or any kind of reception as well as just having a nice meal out. The food is excellent and reasonably priced as well....
Thank you again Murray Miller and staff for such a wonderful and VERY well received reunion and experience with your venue. I will go back...
