SBC Recycle - Electronic Recycling — Local services in Beaverton

They were basically everything I wanted out of a recycling pickup service. I wouldn't say they went above and beyond, but they have certainly earned a recommendation.

There was no communication between an automated order confirmation and a call/text 15 minutes before they arrived. Something in addition to that would have been nice, as I had some concerns listed in my order notes, and I was not certain that they would be showing up on the scheduled day, until about 6 hours into the 8 hour window (Note: You can opt for a 2 hour window at an additional charge). Also, there's no good way to account for items that are not explicitly listed on their website. Not that they won't take them, but for example, they list a metal bed frame on their site. I had a wooden bed frame, which was not on their site. It turns out that they charge $20 more for a wooden frame than a metal frame, but I had no way of knowing that before they arrived, saw the frame, and told me so.

None of these points are a deal breaker by any means, just things to consider as a "could be better". In the end, they had reasonable prices, arrived when they said they would, were easy to talk to, and got the job done in a respectable amount of time. If you can't find a convenient way to get rid of furniture or appliances, then these guys will definitely provide that...

We were moving houses and I was feeling really guilty about dumping our old mattress at some landfill and searched the webs for an alternative. These guys popped up right away under "mattress recycling" and they would also haul it away for us! As I looked around their site I saw that they also recycled all sorts of things that I hadn't even realized could BE recycled! Their site has a very easy and convenient system to add items you want recycled to your list and at check out you can either opt to bring them in yourself or schedule a pick up for a small fee. It was really, really easy. Just before the guys got to my place to pick up my mattresses and couch, I looked around and saw some other stuff I thought would be great if I could get rid of just as easily. I called up their office and asked about adding on a couple items and they had no problem doing so AND the items I wanted hauled off were actually some of the items they recycle for free! I paid $80 to have a king size mattress, box springs, a reclining couch, a two-drawer metal filing cabinet and a broken window a/c unit taken off my hands. absolutely the easiest thing I did for my whole move. the guys that came to pick everything up were very nice and friendly, as was the person I talked with on the...

Thank you Adrian and SBC Recycle! This was my first experience with your service and I was quite impressed with the swift collection. I felt the fees were fair and the website was very user-friendly. Of note, last night when I went to my rental complex to place the item for collection, I discovered that someone from the surrounding neighborhood had "donated" a couple rusty, dilapidated old bicycles to the complex for disposal. I wrote an after-hours email to SBC advising of the addition of the bicycles for collection, but was uncertain if the message would be received and relayed timely due to the short notice. Needless to say, I was thrilled to receive a prompt return email this morning stating that the bicycles would also be collected and that there would be no additional fee for their removal. I will most definitely be utilizing SBC Recycle again. I will also get a notice out to my tenants regarding the service and will include contact information. Plus??? I may also be posting notices for the surrounding neighbors that it would be most helpful if they would utilize your service for their items instead of my dumpsters! ;o) Nicely done, Adrian and...
