Gerth's Beef & Deli — Local services in Bedford Township

Gerth’s absolutely saved the day for us! I had just 45 minutes to pull together a last-minute meal for a group of our customers, and I was desperate. I called Gerth’s not knowing what they could realistically do with such short notice—and they blew me away.

Instead of a basic boxed lunch, they served up a feast: hot-out-of-the-fryer broasted chicken (thighs, legs, drums, breasts), mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, and green beans. They even included two vegetarian subs for the special orders—all with zero prep time on my end.

The food was incredible—tender, juicy, and flavorful (even the chicken breasts were moist!). Everyone raved about it, and it truly made us look good in front of our customers.

I could tell they were already swamped with another large 100-piece chicken order, and I can’t imagine the stress our last-minute request caused—but the manager and staff stayed professional, courteous, and incredibly helpful. They even loaded everything into my car.

We were excited to finally see Gerth's and the "Special" - Mongolian beef was what did it.

Had to actually send it back it was so poorly made. Waited several minutes for rice to be made and in the end the rice was still not fully cooked and the meal was drowned in water/gravy. It was spilling out of the styrofoam container as the worker dropped it onto the counter.

We did get an apology and a refund but, buyer be aware.

The store is a cute concept. It has staples like milk, bread, chips and even beer. But, no prices... On anything. While looking at the back meat counter, a female worker let out a huge belch which curiously amused the rest of the staff. Floors were sticky throughout.

Not going to return (needless to say) but, I just have to say; you (I, we)really want a quant place like this to succeed but, basics...

I read the bad reviews about the customer service and almost didn’t order my chicken order from them. I knew The chicken here is amazing because I had It at a friends party. I went ahead and ordered it anyways and I am So thankful I didn’t listen to all of the bad reviews. The man that answered to phone and took my order was super nice. Then when I picked Up my order OMG all of the ladies from behind the counter to the check out girl were absolutely amazing. They were all super friendly and sweet. They even carried my chicken to my car!!! I’m not sure if there is someone that works here that is causing all of these bad reviews but I give them 5 STARS for their service!!!
