Ethan Allen — Local services in Bedford

Fran Karalli is our designer at Ethan Allen in Bedford. Before Ethan Allen moved from North Andover, where I live, I made many purchases through Fran. Therefore, when I needed a bookcase, I knew which one I wanted, and I called Fran in Bedford, NH and ordered it by phone. As usual Fran was knowledgeable and helpful. I told her what size bookcase I wanted and the shade of wood that I needed to match my Ethan Allen Bedroom set. The bookcase took quite a while, longer than expected, to arrive. Fran kept me posted regarding delays. But, the bookcase finally arrived, and it is perfect. I love it!! I am an avid reader...it is large enough to hold all my volumes. Bedford,NH Ethan Allen We ordered a bed in the middle of July. We were told it would be delivered no later than the middle of September which was a long time anyway. That was due to covid and shipping delays. That was fine though. September came and went with no bed and no contact from Ethan Allen. The first week in October I called them and was told the bed was in their warehouse close by, but they we’re having issues with their delivery service. They didn’t know when I would get my bed. Later in October(almost November) when I still had not been contacted, I called again. They said the same thing. I asked to speak to a manager. They said they’d have the owner call me. I never got that call. A couple of days later a delivery organizer called to set up delivery in two days. I’ve bought from Ethan Allen before, but don’t intend to go back. The customer service...

Ethan Allen is not what it used to be. We purchased a sectional with grey fabric and in under 4 years it has beeb slowly turning pink/red. Contacted the store, and after being falsely accused of using chemicals, I asked to speak with the store manager who after a conversation and viewing pics, agreed it was a manufacturer's defect and referred me to "corporate." Unfortunately, corporate won't budge and the store mgr won't take responsibility. We feel robbed and cheated. We purchased other furniture pieces at the same time and it remains in great condition. We are early 60's, no children or grandchildren, non-smokers, dig not allowed on any furniture, and do not use chemicals on furniture. This furniture was supposed to last "decades" in great condition. Ethan Allen used to stand behind their furniture. Is it the beginning of the end of an era? ...
