After searching for almost an hour online and multiple calls later looking for a restaurant with igloos outside, I found the 1750 Taphouse. Other restaurants had a four to six person minimum to get an igloo and I was looking for a two person minimum. I also didn't want a $200 minimum in order to use the igloo, which a lot of other restaurants required. I hit the jackpot when I called the 1750 Taphouse because not only did they have no issue with a two person minimum, they only charged me a $50 deposit over the phone to hold the reservation for the igloo and I was told I would get that money back in the form of a $50 gift card that I used to pay a portion of the bill at the end of the night. The 17050 Taphouse was a bit of a drive for me but it was well worth it. When we arrived we were taken to the back patio and into our igloo. I believe there were four total and we had one in the corner. They were cleaned before we arrived. There is a small space heater but when I called for the reservation they recommended we bring a blanket which was a good call because it was still a bit chilly. There was a small comfortable patio bench around a table and four other chairs. The igloo had cool color changing lights strung around which was cool as well as white lights strung around the patio. It was a bit quit and our waitress (Noelle, she was great), told us we could play music on our phone which was cool. The drink and beer menu are extensive with a lot of local spirits and beer. I had the Bees Knees, which is made out of Vermont Gin and Vermont honey and was the best drink I've had in a long time! The drinks were brought out fast and so was the food. The food was very good and the service was great. It was a unique experience and it only cost us the price of the bill, which was under $100 for two people including two drinks, two of the more expensive entrees and soup. It was well worth the drive and we will be...
Read moreWow - what a disappointment! I wanted to do something extra special for my husband's birthday so I booked an Igloo at the 1750 Taphouse in Bedford, NH. We had dinner there one night a few months ago and noticed the Igloos set up outside and thought - perfect! Unfortunately this experience was far from perfect. My husband and I arrived at 4:30 and met our friends, expecting good food and good service. Immediately upon being seated - the server asked for our drink order. We had not even had time to look at the drink menu. When we asked for a few minutes we were told - we needed to order as soon as possible since we had limited time for dinner. I fully understand the need to have time limits during this time but really? Feeling rushed was not what we were expecting. Once the drinks were delivered - we were called upon to order our appetizers since time was limited. Again - not the fun filled time we expected. We did order appetizers but again once served we were told it was necessary to put in our food order immediately. Our heads were spinning! We had a nice dinner - not great food but edible - and when we appeared to be finished we were approached by the server with our bill. We asked to see a dessert menu but were told our time was up and we'd have to take it to go or eat real fast. This was a birthday get together.....we were expecting to order cake to celebrate. I believe that the server sadly was just doing what she was told by management. We paid the bill and left unhappily. Saturday I sent management an email voicing our dissatisfaction but never received a reply. So unprofessional on so many counts. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the area.....I suggest that if you are looking for something different - do not waste your time at the...
Read moreI've enjoyed takeout numerous occasions. Pizza is always flavorful. This time, let's treat ourselves to a night out. The restaurant looks to be a great place to bring a family or go on a date.
Server was attentive and busy. Answering any questions we had. I have to eat gluten free and have had good luck with their pizza as takeout. So we each ordered a pizza and a couple drinks. (BTW which their price on the table menu says, Margarita $17.00 the bill said $19.00. Ouch!!) While waiting for our food we get a 2nd beverage. My husband receives his pizza, nothing said to me as idiot get mine. I wait patiently ... husband even finished a slice by the time a manager finally came and told me that they had no gluten free pizza, what do I want instead? I was confused how this is new news as my husband is eating. She then suggested a salad with a salmon upcharge. I asked to see a menu, seemed like it was an inconvenience. I was confused in the sense that his pizza was fully prepared, cooked, served and being consumed before even a mention! Communication with the kitchen manager would've been nice. I really don't know who dropped the ball.
I guess we will stick with takeout.. then I don't have to wonder if proper ingredients are available or about the prices being correct either. (It will take a while before giving them our business again.) I would've said something about the wrong price listed but at that point, we got a to-go box, then paid cash to boogie out of there. I didn't ask for a comp on anything and wasn't even offered a free drink for the inconvenience. Dissapointed on so many levels!
I do not enjoy writing bad reviews but this was...
