Pizza Bella Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Bedford

Short version - Staff is incapable of functioning, barely able to use their Clover kiosk, and customers are charged 5% over prices displayed at the ordering counter (before meals tax) which is illegal. A BBB complaint will be filed.

I ordered a meatball sub with banana peppers, a gyro, tater tots and mozzarella sticks . The sub came out with green peppers and mozzarella sticks. No gyro, and no tater tots. I asked the cashier where the food was, and she says she forgot to add the gyro, even though I saw her tapping the screen as I ordered it. The tater tots were forgotten, and were told they would be out shortly. 2 hours and several requests later they never arrived. I requested a refund and the process took 4 staff members to figure out how to issue a refund after I was offered a credit. When asking why the prices in the paper menu and the digital display over the counter did not match what I was charged I was told the prices are out of date, contrary to being told that the prices were up to date when I was handed the paper menu. The signage is a digital display so this is not even usable as a temporary excuse during COVID. When asking to see a manager, the best they could do was send the grill cook out with no ability to do anything about the menu discrepancies between the posted menu offerings, prices, and their Clover system. All he could do is shrug.

The food itself was bland. The gyro lacked seasonings, was made of some tasteless meat patties covered in plain yogurt sauce mixed with some onions. When the requested curly fries for the gyro arrived, we opened the container to find plain thick cut fries from the grocery store. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 2 decades and have had nothing but amazing experiences. Whoever was working the register on 2/5/2021 around 8:15-8:45 PM, an older women with dark hair completely changed my opinion on this establishment. Not only was she unnecessarily rude to my girlfriend because THEY messed up the payment on the order for pick up, but I also have never had an interaction like that with any employee that has ever worked there in my 20+ years of patronage. When I went back in to get her name she obviously omitted any guilt in the interaction with my girlfriend and upon politely asking her name again she stormed off into the kitchen. I work in customer service and could never dream of treating a customer this way just out of respect for myself and because I would be fired. I was always dragged into buying pizza here by my friends during my time in high school. The food here is just awful. This restaurant single handedly traumatized me, and permanently ruined pizza for me. The seasoned fries are no more than just fires with parsley on them. I can't count how many times I ordered here, spent ludicrous amounts of money, only to be delivered a puddle of grease with soggy bread fused in sauce. However, I should mention that the crust is shockingly crunchy, despite the rest of the pizza being soggy mess, the heat is inconsistent, and you feel like you need a skin graft after eating their pizza.
