I went to purchase a handgun on 4-3-21. I wanted to buy a glock and since there are so many, I downloaded a buyers guide on all glocks. I had some questions about what the difference between the two glocks. I handed my I.D. to the employee working behind the counter, and I tried to ask him what the differences was between the two. As soon as I did that, instead of answering my questions he handed me back my I.D.(which he didn't even have time to run) and said " I'm not going to be selling you a gun today. I asked why because I have questions? Don't people typically have some questions when making a purchase like that, especially being female? His response was I personally don't want to sell you this gun, but you can come back whenever someone else is working and buy it but as for me I will not. Again I say why what's the reasoning behind this because I had questions and he says have a nice day! I am not a felon, I don't have an open case, I don't have any mental health issues. I simply just had questions, and because of that I was not able to buy something to protect my home. I tried to ask why and said I personally will not be selling you a gun today! However, if you come back when I'm not working, and somebody else could sell me the gun but he was not going to. This was the worst customer service I've ever had an establishment I have never been refused A sale because I've asked questions about it and is he didn't know the answers to my questions that would have been fine but I'm sure we could've found an answer between that book about glocks and I downloaded horrible...
Read moreIt pains me to give RK a low star rating because I love their selection of products. However, their staff and customer service is severely lacking. I paid cash for two kinds of paint to determine what KIND I needed (roll on and spray paint). The spray did work, so I went back (only a couple hours later) to exchange the paint and purchase more spray cans. The manager was adamant about facilitating my exchange, citing "Our systems are down, so we can't process returns or exchanges." All the while, the cash registers are processing sales with credit cards, cash, debit cards. I explained to him that I was exchanging and spending MORE, and I also explained that I paid in cash to begin with (which was indicated on my receipt). After basically forcing him to make my exchange, he did the same for the long line of people behind me doing the same. I heard that returns there were nearly impossible, and was disappointed to find it true. I've worked in retail, there is no reason this should have been an issue. Read moreThe store is a bit run down looking, and sometimes dirty. I think most Rural Kings (at least in our area) are like this. It IS a farm store after all, so it's not too surprising. But, I've heard people complain about that so just giving a heads up. Prices seem to be average to other stores in the area, but they often have good clearance sales. They recently had Summer decorations marked down 75%, which was pretty cool. I was able to get some solar and concrete yard decorations that I probably wouldn't have been able to get otherwise. You'll notice a lot of items will literally sit on the shelves for YEARS. There are items from when they first opened still sitting there! (You can tell by the layers of dust, lol !) Seems like RK would want to send old stuff back to a merchandiser or mark it down to get it out of the store for new items. 🤔 Last, I like that they allow you to bring your dogs 🐕🦺 in.
