Friday May (12) before Mother’s Day (2023); I was made to feel like trash when being tended to by a spa manicurist/pedicurist (Tommy) who thought it was a good idea to treat me very aggressively and drew the attention of the patron beside me for the condition of my neglected feet by holding up the tool he was using on my heels; admittedly it had been a while since I’d had a manicure/pedicure since life happened and I’ve been through health challenges, hospitalizations, and surgeries myself as well as my husband and elderly father and such. I’ve honestly not had time or the financial resources to take care of my feet but it’s unacceptable to be treated with such levels of disrespect no matter what my feet looked like. Even if a homeless person was treated to the spa with neglected hands/feet; they deserve professional treatment dignity and respect. Some people’s reality is dealing with monthly food insecurities and costly medical treatments, prescription medications, or copayments and unexpected financial occurrences; so the luxury of a manicure/pedicure is simply not practical. It was very unprofessional to be handled so aggressively and because of my thyroidectomy in (2019) I suffer from horrible cramps and my fingers tensed up lots during the manicure and the manicurist/pedicurist (Tommy) pulled on my fingers repeatedly barking orders at me to relax. I finally told him I couldn’t control the cramps/tensing and I would have to walk out and got through okay and he walked me to dry my fingertips and never really dealt with me again. Never checked my dryness after drying several minutes. No thank you come again. A young boy checked me out at the register and I left with the toe separating foam which my husband removed for me. I told my husband thanks for the gesture and said nothing about my experience until after closing hours. He was livid that I was treated like that and still is wanting to take action. I never want anyone to be treated like that and I regret not walking out regardless of my husband’s gesture and the urgency of my needs for the service. (Tommy) did an excellent job I’ll give him that much, but needs to learn how to treat all patrons with dignity kindness and respect because not everyone can afford such a luxury regularly. Bottom line…I am someone’s daughter, wife, mother, sister and HUMANKINDNESS goes a long way and PROFESSIONALISM should be the top priority over everything business. It’s the right thing to do. Life is cruel enough on its own to not be treated well during a spa experience. If every patron is treated the way you want a loved one or yourself to be treated, it’s a win for everyone. Be kind every opportunity you...
Read moreThis place Ruined A brand new $65 set of nails I got Lucky Star Nails in searcy. I went there for a fill the person didn’t speak 2 words of English and even though I told them they ruined my nails and I was very unhappy they still charged me $40. I shld have walked out refusing to pay. If they can’t speak any English how the heck did they complete 600 hrs of beauty college. We have to start holding these people accountable they play the no English game the minute they don’t want to hear what u have to say. . He asked me if I wanted my nails shorter and I clearly said 3 times NO!!! Somehow it was still my fault that he ruined my nails not just bc he took all the length down to my nail but they look like Chiclets gum ! The owners position was I should’ve told him not to make them shorter when he started sawing them off !! The 3 times I said don’t shorten them wasn’t sufficient !!! if you don’t understand the difference between yes and no in the English language then you should not be working in America doing peoples nails, where you have to ask questions and respond accordingly to the answers to those questions and I dang sure don’t know how you got a license from the state board of cosmetology, completing 600 hours in college and you don’t understand the difference between yes and no.!!! I’m done with it from now on. It is my obligation as an American citizen to hold these people accountable they are so greedy and overcharge plus have extremely pushy sales tactics they are just taking money from us they don’t earn.!!! This cost me $40 for the fill $30 to soak them off and 2 sets of $65 nails !!! I use my hands to display my work they have to look perfect !! So with tip $200 fill ! I did not tip this person only the ones who had to fix them at Lucky Star Nail in searcy ! So do urself a favor and read the other reviews there’s a reason they have 4 stars. This 1star service...
Read moreI have tried to go there a couple times and get turned away an hour before closing for a fill and shellac. When I finally had a chance to visit they did a good job on the pedicure for me and my boyfriend. However, the nail removal and manicure were a huge mess. He got acetone soaked nail fragments all over me and my partner and laughed and kept going when I mentioned I didn't want the chemical to mess up our sweaters. He left dried up melted acrylic on my fingers down to my knuckles on some fingers. He changed the color of my polish without saying anything first which had to be restarted. The finger paint was sloppy. The clear coat clearly didn't cover the whole nail but it was on the skin on the tip of most of my fingers. I asked for no UV/shellac this time due to cancer concerns, and he still tried to get me to dry my fingers under a UV bulb. When I pointed out that I didn't want UV he said there wasn't any, but you could clearly see UV bulbs in the table. As a cancer survivor this actually REALLY offended me that he refused to respect my wishes about drying my nails with no UV. The polish was chipping the very next morning. I won't...
