This is a great little place to bring the kids for a couple hours. Not just kids though. I saw adults there getting some activity in. And why not. Candle pin bowling is fun.
I brought my two older teens and a 9 year old boy. The 9 year old bowled a round and then went to play some games. He had a blast. The teens had fun bowling a few rounds. We had pizza. Delicious!
But my biggest win for this place was how kind the staff was. I had a trying day. I went in on the brink of tears as we Moms are on some days. This was our first time there. The 9 year old was eager. The guy at the counter got everything all situated really quick with no direction from me. He got all the kids shoe sizes and got them set up to bowl and ten minutes in I was completely relaxed and calm again. I had a wonderful time cheering them on. The guy at the desk was named Steve and he has such a calming press and welcoming attitude. He knows how to interact with kids and knows his job very well. There were a couple times where I had a question and felt bad interrupting him. He looked busy but he had no problems at all stopping to listen and answer questions.
So the service is great. The prices were very reasonable. I’m so glad we went and I’m sure we’ll...
Read moreI really didn't want to write a review because it's not a positive one. However, ALLPLay reached out to me and asked for one so they could improve their business. That is a positive move. I went there on a rainy day with two of my grandchildren and spent 40$ on games and also spent another10$ at the kitchen. The French fries were so-so and over priced. The games are expensive but I knew it before I went in and I didn't mind because it was a treat for the kids. The machines give tickets that are redeemable for cheaply made toys etc. My granddaughter was 15 tickets short for a cheap plastic slinky like toy and I offered to pay the difference in cash, that is not allowed so I had to put additional money in the games to get the tickets. The toy broke before I drove out of the parking lot. Hey it's an arcade type of place and if you don't mind blowing your money on some overpriced entertainment, less than good food, and absolutely the cheapest, poorest quality toys you can find. Then this is the place for you to go. The young gentleman working there was very nice and polite. I Know they are trying to make a buck which in over taxed Belfast, Maine it is very tough to do. I wish...
Read moreEDIT * I've been back several times since the new owners have taken over, and I must admit I really like what I've seen. All of the staff are now super friendly and helpful. The owner, Paul, has turned this into a really nice family-friendly place. The Doughboy bites were amazing, and the pizza was cooked fresh and delicious. I've updated the "star" rating to 5 because that's what this place deserves now. Thank you, Paul (and family), for turning this business into a family/community oriented, fun filled place!*
The owner is extremely rude and has 0 patience for children with special needs.
In response to the owners rude note back! This post was not in regard to my child! You made a lot of gross assumptions in your reply. My post also had nothing to do with a safety issue or any child "running wild." I also hold no grudge against you. My post was an honest observation of your rude distaste and interaction/communication with people from the public and a special needs child.
I would recommend everyone to stay clear of this place. The owners are rude people. Go ahead and read their responses to other negative...
