I've been in this business for 30 years now, first Friday off in awhile. The wife and I have lived in the area for 3 years now, and finally got to visit Three Tides. Started off great for our "Date night" ordered Charcuterie board, and Pretzel. I have to admit this is the first time in my career as a Chef, that I have seen Corn Nuts on a Charcuterie board! Also, first time I have had cold beer cheese with a warm Pretzel. But, I can try and understand that. What I can't understand is after we are into our beers, and adult lunchable, is the fact the server came over to us and said if we wanted to stay, after we had been there an hour already, that the band was playing and we needed to pay an additional $10 per person if we wanted to have another beer to finish our snacks. Nowhere was this advertised, or were we told before we were sat. Talk about killing the vibe! Gonna be hard for this Ol'Chef to come back after that craziness! Dropped the ball on this one...
Read moreThree Tides is difficult to categorize. Definitely a pub. Definitely fun and funky. The staff are genuine and nice and the beer is great with a wide selection (all Marshall Wharf). It doesn't hurt that it's right on the water too. There is a hipster vibe but in the best possible way.
