We went with a group of friends & were quite disappointed. We had reservations but found out that doesn't mean anything at The Joke Joint....we had no seats. Our party of 7 was squeezed between the restroom doors in uncomfortable folding chairs. 2 people in our party were literally hit each time someone used the restroom. At least 1 person in our party wasn't even able to see the stage. No point in making a reservation for this place. They're only concerned with getting as many people in as possible. When we let it be known that we were dissatisfied, we were given every excuse in the world on how it wasn't the venue's fault. They tried to remedy the situation by giving the ladies in our group a free drink. It wasn't free....the cost of our drinks was included in our admission. By free, they meant that they didn't collect a drink ticket that we'd already paid for. The "dinner" was something that someone cooked in God knows what kitchen and brought it to the venue. It was set up outside, behind the building & served on paper plates at folding tables set up in the parking area behind the strip mall. The comedians were ok but I won't pay $75 for 2 people to go back again. For $75 , I expect reservations to be honored & an actual meal inside....not a pot luck. This place is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Response to the "owner's" reply - Funny that as an "owner" you reply to every negative review with trying to insult the people that speak truthfully about their experience.....that says more about you & your "business" than any negative review ever could. The energy spent trying to insult people should be put into trying to make your "business" a place that people want to come to. The comedians were good, the venue &...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all I want to say that Alex, the owner of Joke Joint is the biggest moron Iāve ever met. Heās a nasty little creep. Let me give you the details why I say this Me and my wife went there last night to join our friends and enjoy Donna The Lady in Black, who is also a good friend of mine. We walked in and wanted to sit by our friends. There were empty chairs behind them. He didnāt want us to sit there. Supposedly for visual reasons. I really didnāt understand. Anyway I convinced him to let us sit there but he got all pissy about it Then after my wife paid the $20, I went to the bar for two beers. They wanted another $20 for two beers. According to the woman behind the bar it was for food too. We already ate. We didnāt need food. Which was gross anyway. When I sat down I told my wife so she went to the bar to talk to the woman. As they were talking Alex came over and created a heated situation. So they gave us our money back and we left. While in the parking lot Alex came out and started yelling and cursing at us. Saying things like āhow do you expect me to make a living?ā And how we were in his parking lot. It literally almost came to blows. This man has no idea how run a business or how to treat people. Weāve been there before and heās always had the worst so called comedians Iāve ever seen. So that was our experience. In reply to your reply to me. It has nothing to do with the money. And whether we were right or wrong is not the point. We were not drunk. We very peacefully left. There was absolutely no reason for you to come running out to the parking lot like a maniac yelling and screaming. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust happened to randomly see a post on Facebook about Michael Winslow from Police Academy being here an hour after the post was made. Literally only three people had bought tickets when I did. But come to find out, We went for the first time on the night that they had their first double sold out shows in a row. Had a great experience there. They were running a little behind but the owner came out and let everybody know what was going on. Kudos for that but you could tell he was definitely under pressure. Take a breath and next time we'll stay and partake after š¤£
The dinner was great however extremely small serving. More like a side dish size at a restaurant. But for the price that you pay you really can't complain. I'm sure people do as he was worried about the Yellp reviews. Well screw Yellp because this is Google and these mofos deserve a five-star rating for what they did and were able to put together. Michael Winslow does an absolute legend from my childhood that I still remember. It made my wife's day being surprised with tickets to go see him.
Definitely will be making the drive back over from Citrus County again soon.
My only suggestion would be to increase the portion size for the "dinner", and Get some more of those icon...
